Mr freud!

Featured Replies

Well....is Mr Sigmund Freud known in other countries...?

I don't know it....

We are talking about his theories in our..............tätääää:

GERMAN LESSON!

(wow the german lessons seem to impress me a lot)

so if you know his theopries...or about him...what do you think about him?

Is it good.......do you think he is right with the things he said?

yesss everywhere he is...

yeah ... i guess he did some impressive studies and had out of his world ideas.

I learned bunches on him last semester in my humanity class.

He's the pschology guy right? Yep....did a lot about him in English lol... the parts of the mind etc... id etc etc

his theories are awesome.. so interesting to read

I always make Freudian slips......

heh. I learned that in physchology too!

(marissa, be careful with those slips!...they are dangerous!)

just in case you have not learned about mistah freud.... ^^

I have not found many of his theories to be false. (in my views, at least)

Such as what marisa mentioned.... freudian slips.

They have happened to me before. And when I stopped to really think of why I said something wrong, I came to the conclusion that I had some kind of repressed thought or another. Like dreams and how they combine/mesh with things you may be dealing with in life.

I mean, some dreams i have just don't make any sense.

But others are twists of my life and you just know that you are dreaming of your daily events of your life.

I mean, of course the things that travel through your mind effect your every thought. And the subconcious mind tries to come out in mistakes at times because there is like, a battle between the thoughts you have and your natural intentions (i.e... "freudian slips")

They are pretty interesting theories, only they really could not be proven on a scientific manner because you can't like, examine peoples thoughts!

I would always pay attention during psycholgy when Freud was mentioned. It seems boring (at times) but in fact it could explain some things about what he thought the mind worked like.

i read one of his books (trying to understand at least some of the stuff in there) and i`m torn between his theory about dreams and their meaning and between prophetic dreams (cuz i cant remember him sayin anyffin about those). cuz ive had some prophetic dreams but the ones that werent match his theory that u dream about things you want and stuff.

btw, sorry for any typos but i`m a bit tipsy :D

yaaaay, of course he is well - known here, I think, especially his interpretation of the dreams, the conscious/unconscious and the sexual repression!!! :)

To be honest, I'd really like to read/know more things about his theories... they seem to be pretty interesting :D

thankies!

do you wanna have the pic?

oy!

Freud DID talk much about sexual repression :stunned: .... and he did studies/surveys on his own patients about that type of repression. And it was very contreversial at the time.

Crystal, girl

yaay, of course... and if I've to tell the truth this is one of the main reasons why I'm so interested in his sexual repression theories, 'cause of these controversial results he obtained  hehehe

I don't know if I'm right, but I've heard he said that girls always want a boyfriend who is similar to his father, 'cause he means the security for hers... or something like that, I'm not sure

ok, weedy! :)

OHHHH IRIS!!!!

(I did not notice you had changed your username ..I have not seen you in that long of time!) :embarassed:

 :daisy:

YES! about the girl and father.

He thought (and his "studies" showed) that a girl is "attracted" to her father (sometimes in a wierd sexual way) because she feels safe with him (?) something like that. ...i learned this long ago

and many weird results like a son being attracted to a mother because of the bond they shared.

ohhh, Crystal, I should have said you before that it was me!!!! yaaay, I changed my username 'cause I was tired of my old-one! :nice:

yaay, exactly, I learned something related with that some time ago, as well and as you said is WEIRD!

gosh, but for example, if I think about me... I'd have never feel attracted for a boy who reminds me my father... but I think he said it happens in our unconscious, so we're not conscious that we're liking a boy who is similar to him!

Well, I looked down and it had the familiar 'Iris' in the siggy and I felt like...

:nice:

I like the new one.... ohheeeennonnnaaahhh!

correct. it is a subconcious thing. As in, you are familiar with the traits of your father/mother and your mind sorts through the ones that your subconcious mind finds more attractive. And then, upon meeting someone of the opposite sex, your mind is reminded of those qualities of your parents and they are attractive

hahahaha, thanks Crystal, I'm glad to hear that you liked it!!! :nice:

okay, that could be true... but the same can happen with the things you don't like of them, I guess!

I suppose. And I have (because of my interest in that idea) observed that some gals and guys do go for people that are similar to their parents! It is true.

not too long ago, a friend of mine was married. and she is very asocial (like, freakish panic attacks when in public, and stutters when she is nervous) and her husband's mother has those tendancies too!

you would think he would have avoided that type of girl....but no, he stuck to the negative trait.

that's pretty weird... :surprised:

theoretically we should only want to find the "good" things of our father... 'cause like this we don't go ahead, we continue stuck to the negative traits, as you said!

Right-O

yes that is the theory. because the mind usually sorts out the attractive ones ..you would think that he would find the good in people. But i guess he is just nuts and went the other way

hahahaha, it's totally nuts our mighty mind!

HAHAHAHAHA

ok, no.

but my class has developed a fear, mr freud scares them.

dont ask

but I was thinking what would they say if they see this.

again...

HAHAHAHAHA

print it out... and tape it to one anothers' faces!

then their fears will dissipate :)

*their new fear will be YOU)*

mwwahahahah :sneaky:

Sigmund Freud is a crazy bitch!!
