First of all:Wow I didn't know that that what I'm talking about has such a cool name in english....sounds beautiful somehow...ok...

(I hope it is the right translation for it)

So.....people come to our countries....foreigners.....most of the time they come here...build their churches here....use their traditions in publicity...seem to ignore our country's culture....often ignore our language....

And we should accept all this?

First of all...I'm NOT against foreigners....but all I can say at least here in Germany it is like described above....

even foreign teachers brought their culture into german schools....

many foreigners don't know german.....many don't even bother to learn it....

But why should they? They get everything they want......can go to school anyways....

they even thought about something...that the german teachers should learn now the pupil's language....

Haha....this is ridiculous in my opinion.....

BUT.........they want to find ways here....they want every pupil before starting school here to take a german test......so that they are allowed to go to school....

well.......all in all I have to say that if foreigners bother to learn german etc...and put much effort in it....there is NO problem at all.....they are cool for me...but if they IGNORE everything here.....no...then I can't accept that....

I talked with my dad about it......he said..."what if we would go to foreign countries, build our churches there and ignore everything?".....well...I don't know...maybe we could go home....

I can see how that would be frustrating. My mother doesn't know english that well (she is from Mexico) and I wish she would try harder!

But she refuses and still holds on strong to her culture. Which is OKAY..but the refusal to learn better english gets to me, and it is necessary.

I mean, if you came here, with your culture...would you assimilate to out culture?

well......I would try to learn your language....

with the culture.....I think I would keep it more private...an not make a big thing of it....of course when i think about it now....I wouldn't say "Hey my original culture is past now....."......I would still keep it.....but not ignore the country's culture...

I guess that If you go to a different country you should learn the country's language and try to learn some traditions.. without forget your own traditions obviously..

it's like here in some ways... we all talk in different languages but we need to write in english because we need to understand each other.. if I'd write in spanish, and someone in german, another one in portuguese, french, etc etc etc nobody would understand each other and this place would be a chaos.. it's just like that...

see? maybe they think like you...and don't make a big change in who they are.

i mean, i like seeing just how distinct one culture is to the next...its lovely

and i would learn the language, but keep my culture

and me CONDSIDERATE of other cultures...

i assume that is what is missing in the situation you described?

The bad thing I want to describe is that foreign teachers bring thier foreign country into german schools....to german pupils.....that gives an impression as if germans should learn other cultures and not their own...

and there's no people who can control that??.. i mean.. it's good to learn about another cultures.. but learn about our own culture is more important I guess...

Haha...I can't stop shaking my head.....I read on the net that there is a german politican who wants the third verse of the german national anthem to be in turkish!:stunned:

sorry...but this makes me speechless....

he want to show that turkish people are integrated in germany....and wants to give a sign....

No...I think this a bit too much....really....

Now he unbleashed a controversal discussion....I think he is one of the few people who wants that....

in belgium there even are some freaks who want to make Arab the fourth (after dutch, french and german) language ... i mean ... that's just insane. If they want to come here they should learn dutch. They shouldn't say: hey, we're here, you learn arab.
