My toes are falling off!!

Featured Replies

Hello campers I have a slight problem to share with you all :nice: As you may have guessed it's to do with my toes.

Now, they're not actually falling off, however they have all turned quite a nasty shade of purple, they are freezing cold and three of them are completely numb whilst the rest tingle ominously.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that it's something to do with the circulation to my feet however I'm not sure why randomly my blood has decided not to pay my feet a visit today.

I haven't been walking long distances, standing in cold water, doing handstands, or wearing exceptionally tight knickers. I'm not, as far as I know, heavily pregnant and I don't suffer from bad circulation as a rule. They are the only options that stupid NHS and similar website give me. :snobby:

So I was wondering if maybe any medical students, nurses or just damned clever people out there have an idea what's going on.

Sorry to bother y'all but I am alone you see, all alone in this house so I need someone to slap me across the face and tell me "Your toes are not going to fall off Mich, you stupid potato" :idea2:

Grab a bucket and fill it with water asap!!!!!(hot water) And rub your feet as well!!

If they are going purple then its serious!!!!

:worried:

Check your heart rate also!!!

Hmm if they're freezing cold though, hot water sounds painful :uhoh:

My feet are always cold as hell and at winter they're kinda purple too

But I'm sure your toes won't fall, it would be too strange.

massage your toe with your fingers

it may help...

Well use warm water dont use hot,but if you dont do anything and just leave it then they might just fall off.....no blood =......

So it'll go away? :idea2:

Of course... It has to :uhoh2:

Ah ok mimi I have similar problems but it only occurs when I'm outside and if it's freezing, so this is pretty worrying! Were you sitting or lying with your legs elevated for a long period of time? Have you gotten pins and needles in your feet since you noticed the problem?

I'd suggest walking around your house with warm socks on. Or even better, if you have any socks around that are for plane journeys or to stop blood clotting (I know they are only usually given by the hospital and the others need to be bought in a chemist) but a walk should help the blood circulate around your body

I know this is about mimi's problem but while we're on the subject of seeking some medical advice, I have a problem which is actually starting to worry me lots.

Ok for the past 2 weeks I've been getting bouts of pins and needles in my left hand (usually just my baby finger) and they would last about 10 minutes at a time. Now I've looked this up online and it could be a few things but the ones that stook out to me were nerve damage and possible diabetes :stunned: I told my mam about this and she thinks it could be stress related from work or maybe from using my hand all the time in work, but that doesn't make any sense because then wouldn't it happen in my right hand aswell?!

Anyway if anyone has had anything similar, please post :)

i wasn't. I was lying on my bed but my feet were grounded.

They felt funny in the shower too this morning, they felt cold when the hot water was on them

The feelings come back a bit now, and they're red instead of purple.

I shall put another pair of socks on now though Feef and have a little potter about. Thanks :nice:

Ah good stuff. Bleh as soon as I saw the title of this thread I felt a little :sick2:

Ahhhh see toes should never have even been created!!!!! balance would be interesting then......

Anyway, I hope your feet go back to normal soon :)

Hmm, have you got any other symptoms? Like excessive need to urinate, excessive thirst, feeling weak after not eating for a few hours? I had all these a while ago and had a test for diabetes but it came back clean.

Maybe you should visit a doctor...just to be on safe side. Will put your mind at rest :idea2:

I love the word potter, so I think that's a good idea.

I find your purple feet interesting and strangely arousing, but I think you should give them a shake and a wiggle.

My mam was questioning me about this, but I'm unsure because in work I'm right beside the water machine so I tend to drink a lot of it anyway, which obviously leads to needing the toilet a lot, so I don't know... I also eat at regular intervals like I have for years so the weakness wouldn't be an issue either. I think I'll wait until I'm back at college to go see the doctor so it'll be free haha cheapness!

Well i get that sometimes in my thumb, sometimes it goes numb for a while and it's kinda weird cos I cant feel it...so it feels like it's not actually there, but tends to go away after a while,I dont think its anything too serious, must have something to do with circulation etc...When it first happened i was like pretty worried, but I just left it and it disappeared after a few hours.....still cant explain it tho...

I get that sometimes... pinky and ring fingers are the worst for it. For me, it means that my neck is out and I need to see a chiroprator pronto. It can happen when my mucles are really tense too, usually when I'm under alot of stress or I'm not sitting properly at my computer.

The more serious stuff is possible too though, if it's never happened before... probably a good idea to see a doctor.

oh, i get that, but it's in both of my hands usually, and they're usually reaally cold when that happens, and i had it during finals week, so i think it was stress.

FOr real! I am feeling anxious because sometimes little things turn into big things!

It's better to get early diagnosis, for sure.

Please please, if it doesn't get better in less than a day, seek medical attention!
