Ok this thing it's pissing me off..first it was not a theatric (for theatrics see Van Bommel during Holland-Portugal and Henry yesterday evening please) and second ANY OTHER PLAYER would have done the same, that is, doing nothing not to fall.

You can go on and on about the penalty and I can go and on about the red card (which was absolutely not right)...I don't see any difference in having a penalty during the match or just the last 10 seconds...the match is over only when the referee blows his whistle, if you thought the match was already over I don't know what to do.

 

And this time I don't think it will be a passionless game...they will play for one of their former team-mates who risked his life yesterday. I really hope they will play better than ever for him :nice:

 

 

Again..if this is not going to happen then we deserve to go out, but it's pointless to be too sure about one thing based on prejudice ;)

 

 

 

there's a difference.

the red card might have been wrong, but so was the penalty. which was only given to make up for the red card.

 

the fact that the penalty was literally in the last 10 seconds, means tht australia had absolutely NO chance to equalise, as the final whistle was blown STRAIGHT away.

 

that is the difference. if it were a penalty with about 5 or so minutes left, that still makes a HUGEEEEEEEE difference, and i can't stress this enough. the penalty was only to make up for the red card, which was so fucking dodgy, it's not funny.

 

even one of your italian players said it, i should fin the article from the paper.

 

if he felt he should have made up for the red card, he should have penalised australia EARLIER. not in the last 10 seconds where australia can't make up for it.

 

it's referee bias towards the major soccer countries. always screwing over the newly established ones, the minor soccer nations... :dozey: it happens every single time.

I know one of our players (Gattuso) said the penalty was probably given to "balance" the red card (and it's not so easy to have one man less since we lost one of our fowards as we needed another defenser), but I've seen the vid many times and I'm still more than sure that the foul was there, ok the Aussie defenser didn't make such a huge foul but you can't give a half penalty.

If you feel robbed for this I wonder what you would have done with the things happened to us (and Spain too) 4 years ago :dozey: and we were not the new established ones (we're probably the hated ones..just look at how a German newspaper depicts the typical Italian male)..oh yes FIFA is always at our feet :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3:

 

I have this feeling something will happen in the match against Ukraine to balance again everything..don't worry

he slipped, and he was trying to get the ball. a penalty would be if lucas neill actually physically obstructed the italian player by moving his hands and trying to trip the italian player. you can't award a penalty for someone slipping when trying to get the ball. it's ridiculous.

 

and i'm quite aware there's no such thing as a half penalty.

He slipped? Then you didn't see Neill hand grasping his left foot...and in the penalty area there are no free kicks for normal fouls, but they're just when the goalkeeper takes with his hands a backwards pass not made with the head, that's why the penalty area exists

Just one thing about the penalty in the match against Australia: the fault wasn't a big fault,but it always remain a fault,so it was penalty,full stop.
