World Trade Center Movie

If this thread is already around, my bad. I looked and didn't find it.

So, The movie: Will you see it? Will you not?

Do you think it's exploiting the tragedy od Sept. 11th?

I probably won't see it, not at the theartre at least because I don't agree with it. Not only is it exploiting the tragedy it also looks really corny which I hate. I also believe that the Bush Administration planned 9/11 and I doubt this movie will show that side of the story.

Are you insane, the Bush Administration can't plan anything. They've cocked up just about everything they've done, ever.

Yeah, this film looks Bad, very bad.

And as anniep_93 said....it won't show the true events that were covered up.

Shame Oliver Stone didn't have the balls to expose the lies this time.

I will be watching it but as Gaz indicates, it will be a tame version of the real truth.

why would he make a fiction movie? most americans wouldnt see it. you forget most of america does not beleive your fiction.

I really can't believe you 'don't think/won't see' that the Government covered up the facts.......it's not even a very good cover-up....it's a second rate attempt.

I will be watching it but as Gaz indicates' date=' it will be a tame version of the real truth.[/quote']

you going on your own?

I have no intention of going to see it

"Oliver Stone thought of casting Kevin Costner as Sgt. John McLoughlin, his JFK (1991) lead. Costner had narrated the 2005 documentary On Native Soil (2005), about the 9/11 Commission Report's investigation of the causes of the terrorist attacks and what could have been done to prevent them from happening. Paramount Pictures was concerned that Stone and Costner would then delve into another conspiracy theory."

Hmmmm

I think this movie isn't a docu on what happened that dreadful day.. but more of a story. the story of 2 officers and how they survived.... no real fiction or drama to it.. they just wanted to share their story.... and how we should never forget.

I'll be watching it...

as will i, i will go and see it. It has the opportunity to be an AMAZING epic movie, but on the other had, it has the opportunity to REALLY suck

I hope everyone on this thread realizes that Oliver Stone, director of World Trade Center, is the same man who directed JFK. JFK is the movie that pretty much sensationalized the JFK conspiracy theory and concreted it as a plausible, acceptable theory.

So for you guys that are jumping all down Stone's back... he's a conspiracy theorist. I've seen him say that he thinks there's more to 9/11 than is being told. I believe, however, Paramount restricted Stone from doing another conspiracy movie because they didn't want "that reputation". Especially not only five years after the incident.

World Trade Center just focuses on the story of two cops who were stuck under the rubble. It doesn't present either side of the "what really happened" argument. It's just a story about a tragedy. 9/11 was a tragedy, no matter how you roll the dice.

Yeah, of course..... JFK was an amazing movie. I just have a problem with Stone's choice to do this movie as he has been quoted as saying to Paramount that he was "in search of a hit"....that he wanted a hit movie.

But I do know he has been very outspoken over the governments actions in he past and with 9/11.

One good thing about this movie though....in regards to us who are trying to premote the truth.....is that 'World Trade Center shows a video of the Building 7's precipitous total collapse, underscored by a scene of Port Authority officers at headquarters viewing the event on TV with puzzled expressions. The film's inclusion of this footage means that millions of people will witness this event for the first time. This is very significant.

In a November 16, 2005 interview on the nationally syndicated MSNBC program The Situation, Professor Steven Jones repeatedly requested that host Tucker Carlson play footage of the collapse that he had supplied the studio in advance. Carlson indicated that they were unable to, implying that technical problems were to blame. World Trade Center brings to the big screen what MSNBC would not play on TV.'

That's a good point.

I love Oliver Stone.... a Vietnam Vet who isn't afraid to speak about the truths in govt. he was also in the same Platoon as my Pops was in Nam... :nice:
