........ so has anyone read the report? Apparently Adidas is 'transparent'......???

I'll be honest. I heven't read it. I like to be informed, but i don't have patience or time right now to read 112 pages. Can you sort of sumarise it? I know alot of those companies are bad for this sort of thing...

what? when did I insult you now?? I am talking about Adidas?????!!!!!

we've tossed around personal insults all the time with each other.....not on this thread but it happens alot on other ones.

I've skimmed thru the pages myself.. lol 112 seems a bit much for me!! lol but I think there isn't one company listed on there that does things on the up and up. Nike seems to be the only company named that made the most significant changes toward fair labor and rights...

I wanted to print it and read it at my leisure.. but the printer at work was acting up... :embarassed:

At leats Nike's improving...that's a start. But without public pressure on companies and governments, little will change. Thanks for the reply.

we just need to get the other companies like nike to start improving.

I think as I say that the only way to do that is public preaasure. Using the Media, boycots etc. But who's going to give up theire Converse? lol. Even I have a pair, which I love. It's hard to stop everytime you buy sommething and ask yourself if anyone's being abused by the manufaturer. At least we have a few public figures willing to address the issues. I don't agree with Bono's hat thing...he could've bought a new hat...lol. And I really hope he literally puts his money where his mouth is. But at least he and Chris and others are making ppl aware. I'm repeating myself...sorry.

I'mm off to roast an orphan or 2...I'm starving and we're fresh out of Fair Trade chocolate!!! (I'M KIDDING!!! NO TAKE THAT SERIOUSLY!!)

Better put on your Addidas, though...those little buggers run pretty fast!!

*applaudes* well said Oliver.. (it is Oliver isn't it... :uhoh:) -- I hope this doesn't tarnish all the work he has done... I love him. :embarassed:

Yes it is, Camille(Camille right, I was afraid to use it, if it's not your name, cuz' there were more nicks containing berry prefix.)

Bono.

Oh:DYou're right I don't think she LOVES any of them(I was surprised to read that word).

Well, since we are already talking about Bono, I think that the series of U2 signed ipods was unnecessary. It's not like they are some new hip trendy band, like The Killers, Artic Monkeys and such.

In the words of The Chuckle Brothers (google them if you don't know who they are)

"oh dear, oh dear"

ok... so let me get this straight...

people are slagging him off because he has a lavish lifestyle?? Still doesn't change the fact that he donates and makes time for his causes.... does it?

I'm not slagging him off. He has done alot of good for the world, and noone can take that away from him.

It just seems...er...questionable that he rubs shoulders with the very people he used to attack in his lyrics...'Bullet The Blue Sky' could be about some of his new 'friends'.

One set of behaviouse cheapens the other, IMO.

ahhhhh I see what you mean.... ;)

people change I suppose.. unless he's using them to get his own private agenda done.... *shrugs*

*shrugs*

here's hoping...but I'm not holding my breath. I really hope you're right though.
