Jamelia covers 'Clocks' SIX times during AOL Sessions

The pressures of performing live for solo artist Jamelia has proved far too much. The singer who was performing tracks from her new album at the AOL Sessions forgot her lyrics nine times – and those were from her old songs.

The singer, who hasn't performed live in two years, was playing at London venue The Hospital. The gig started well but soon went pear-shaped when she came to perform, Beware of the Dog. The singer had to stop in the middle after forgetting the lyrics.

She gave the song a second shot and succeeded but stumbled again when she came to do her cover of Coldplay's Clocks. She retried that song six times, then moved on to another, which she also failed twice.

It all got too much for the songstress who then took a ten-minute break. She kept her sense of humour about her ordeal though, telling the crowd, 'I'll try clocks again ...so it could be a long night.'

I'd probably accidentally say "Are you" instead. :(

Thanks! Do you like Hannah Montana or The Office? I'm fans of both.

It's a great balance, really. Disney Channel and Adults working in an office. :P

Jamelia forgets lyrics during concert

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds36284.html

Jamelia forgot the words to her songs a staggering nine times during her first live perfomance in two years, The Sun reports.

The singer took time out from her career to have her second child, but her return to the music scene did not go smoothly. She managed to get through the first song at her gig at The Hospital in London, but things went downhill from there.

During her next track 'Beware of the Dog', the star had to stop in the middle as the lyrics failed to come to her.

Mortified but keeping her good humour, she told the crowd: “It’s my first show in two years so bear with me.”

However, nerves were obviously still getting to the vocalist as she attempted to sing Coldplay's single 'Clocks'. After trying to get it right six times without success, Jamelia went on to another song but the words continued to escape her and she decided to take a ten minute break to compose herself.

After eventually completing the show, she exclaimed: "I just kept forgetting the words. I wanted to cry. My boyfriend Darren was giving me grief, telling me to hurry up as he was missing the Arsenal game.”

^She's quite obviously in the wrong job. Next please!

I don't know what it is,

I don't know who you are,

But if you forget your words,

Then you can't say you're a superstar....................... :P

I don't like her at all.

:laugh3: Well said, Mrs Heathcliff!

It was a joke :D

OK. CLearly this is a little more than stress for the poor girl, but be fair. Forgetting your own song does not make you an idiot, as has been suggested. MANY songwriter including me have tripped over their own lyrics live. I don't think it reflects on your IQ. I can also learn songs just by hearing them, but some are easier than others...and lest we forget, there is a cretain band notorious for stopping and re-starting songs due to f**k-ups...I think they're called Coldplay!!!:) THat being said, 9 times skrewing up your own songs is a sign of probable drug-abuse or something...lol...I'm KIDDING!!! Pretty sad, though.

Aha! But Coldplay always make a joke out of it, and it usually has to do with chords, not words.

And they can get away with it because they're not a second-rate pop act!!;)

How can you forget the clocks song :p

Even if i'm too drunk i can sing the song (no just kidding)
