Guest Hyperfried
Well, I don't know about all of you, but, personally, I have never heard a Coldplay b-side anywhere, except on my own computer. I'll hear some popular Coldplay songs here and there on the radio, Yellow, Talk, etc., but never anything beyond that anywhere. A b-side, like The World Turned Upside Down, or Things I Don't Understand? Yeah. Right. However... Yesterday, in a store in Delaware (Bass Outlet, or something), I heard them playing a favorite b-side of mine, Sleeping Sun. Where did that come from!? I don't suppose any of you have heard any b-sides anywhere?
just_cass
i actually havent heard any b-sides anywhere in public, but personally i think they are the hidden gems of coldplay. as good if not better! you get a different dimention to coldplay through these songs
Starlight
I've never heard a b-side anywhere else, I've never really thought of it. I only thought about the other songs...
Lifelike
Oh, what I wouldn't give to hear Sleeping Sun here... that would be amazing. The most excited I've been over the radio was hearing The Thrills' "One Horse Town" at an indie movie theater. Lol. I prefer B-sides because a lot of them are very pretty and nice to listen to. I think Coldplay should release an official b-side CD for the public, to alert them. I want to share the beauty with the world. :D
razors_girl23
It's good in a way to not have them publicly known. That way they're special to us diehard fans. For example they sung How You See The World in Adelaide and I was the only one around me singing. It felt good.
snowshine
I love their b-sides, some are better than the songs that make the CDs, in my opinion. Sleeping Sun is one of my favs. I haven't heard one anywhere else though.
Petra_coldplay
B-sides also can be great :) It's just like a normal cd, You can like everything, but you also have that you like other songs more than others :) But b-sides or also very special :)
Starlight
Yes, indeed. :) At the moment, I'm constantly listening to 'For You.' Such a beautiful song... It reminds me of a cloudy summer day at the beach, sitting there watching the waves crash into the rugged rocks, wind blowing in my hair....or in the winter, snow so pure, glistening in the sun, driving down a road with trees on both sides, thinking...ahhh I'm dreaming again. :p

musicman1990
Hmm...I know that "The World Turned Upside Down" (my favorite CP b-side) charted in the US on the Pop 100 charts (different than the Hot 100)...it peaked at 76. See here: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/retrieve_chart_history.do?model.vnuArtistId=401639&model.vnuAlbumId=754845 Scroll down. It's about the 19th one down. Also, a side note, The Hardest Part actually charted in the US! On the Adult Contemporary Chart! 46! Dave

Lifelike
bad idea. i think if ppl really want to get more coldplay they can search for it like we have all searched. Ehh... true... but it's a shame people don't know these songs. :c That's why I want the world to know. Not all of them, just a few. All of them or all of the really rare ones would just be mental. But it might help people see the other side of them. I don't know, maybe it's just me. I think I'd like others to know. I don't show anyone the b-sides by myself, but if they asked, I'd show them. :/

TraceOddity
I know how you feel. My mom is very old-fashioned, and a fan of church music, so when she heard Chris's voice she said 'why doesn't he sing like a man??':shocked2: But she liked 'I'll See You Soon' a little more, so thank God for b-sides!!!:) :) :)

It's so fun to introduce casual Coldplay listeners to b-sides. Then finally I have someone to share my favorite band with. ApproximatelyInfinite
i love the b-sides, theyre some of my favorites: see you soon, the world turned upside down, i ran away, crests of waves...i could go on and on. i once hung out in the gap for 20 mins, trying to wait and see if sleeping sun would come up on the store CD, as someone said it had. it never did. poo. i think it would be cool to release a b-side CD, but for some reason i think its a bit nice to have b-sides that you have to search a little bit harder for and that not everybody (except for us die-hards) knows about. its like a secret bonus for people like us or something :) not that i have anything against them releasing a compliation CD or not-so-obsessive fans listening to b-sides or anything. but i just have a weird liking for discovering them.
