Castles confusion!? Please help me

Featured Replies

I bought castles on ebay and just got it the other day. I was wondering if this was the right thing to do? I didn't want to download all the songs to save time, space on my computer and cause you can get fined etc. I know its not offical but the cd looks very professional, and where does the money I paid for it go to?

Also the most important reason I posted this was that I realised that I can't get the songs from this CD to go on my Mp3 player? does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? I can convert the songs to mp3 but it wont go on the mp3 player ( and yes I do have space etc on it, so it has to be the CD and its programing). What should I do? I dont want to download the songs and the CD wont work?

please help! im really frustrated

unfortuately from what i know, castles is not an offical album. i believe it just a bootleg that someone did (probably so it looked offical). but if it was offical there would definately be a bit more of a buzz, plus some of the sing were on b-sides so why release them again on a seperate album. well this is only my opinion so please dont take it at face value.

if you dont have any of these songs, sure buy the album but personally id rather buy them all seperately knowing that my money is going to coldplay and hense therefore passed along via their 10% that they do.

but you can do watever of course..

some countries have different copyright and distribution laws. castles isn't an official release, but looks to be a professionally pressed compilation, like a few others that you'll find floating about.

kind of a waste of money in the sense that all the tracks are available through official distribution, and with better packaging and correct verbiage (a lot of the unofficial comps will display the titles incorrectly or misspelled). BUT, for someone who'd like a 2-CD comp of b-sides, the unofficial's are usually a cheap buy, and have good sound.

as far as the downloading problems, i can't help you out much. i have a few unofficial comps for a few bands, but never had any problems getting the tracks into my mp3.

Did you have iTunes? It can help your cds switch to mp3.

I dont have an ipod, but my sister does. when you said itunes did you mean an itunes card ( that you use to buy songs off the net) or a computer program (that can help convert the songs onto my mp3 somehow)?

If its a program my sister will let me use it, but if it involves money, well she probably wont let me. Itunes can't be bought for mp3's can they?

castles is an unoffical compilation of b-sides made in to an album by some unknown person/s. discussion about castles continues to pop up everywhere with people mistakenly thinking it's an official album but it's not.

i would suggest iTunes as well so i haven't really helped lol sorry, i can't help you with any of the technical problems, maybe someone one here is more technologically literate unlike myself lol
