National ID cards?

Featured Replies

Ah right, I though this was about the united kingdom ID cards scheme which is coming in in 2008, when you apply for a passport.

^ it might be similar...

but I don't like this one bit. Who know what kind of information they'll hide on those bar codes!!! I mean, I don't evenknow whats on my drivers licsence barcode, let alone one issued to me by the govt!!

whats wrong with a passport??

If you get one of those new uk passports with those chips in the back, watch out because there has been unconfirmed reports that they set off those shop anti-theft barriers.

My passport's crap, I keep getting arrested in China for having a fake passport, and the British Embassy have to get in touch and explain that its a real passport, its just they fall apart really easily.

I'm willing to pay money for a 10-year passport, but I expect it to last ten years. This works both ways, I want my money's worth.

If I need an ID card to travel, to open a bank account and use any government service then so be it, I'll pay, but if for any reason my ID card stops working and these services are withheld, I'm going to sue.

I'd rather carry a ID card then my passport around.

I already carry my drivers liscene around in my wallet, but its falling apart, its just a wee laminated bit of card, these things ought to be designed to last

Mines six years old and still in mint condition- what the hell have you done to yours?

wtf?! stand in another unbearable DPS line for yet ANOTHER form of identification? i don't think so.

i'd rather slit my wrists than stand in those lines!!!!!!!

here we have to use a natinal ID card since forever :S
