Paul Gascoigne is back on the booze as he goes on an alcohol fuelled gambling binge in London.

The troubled football legend spent seven-hours at a Mayfair casino, downing glass after glass of Cristal Champagne and chain-smoking 100 cigarettes – while betting up to 4,000 a hand on black jack.

Gascoigne's gambling has spiralled out of control recently as he has been spotted on several occasions laying large sums of money on the turn of a card.

The latest gambling marathon by the England and Spurs hero will concern his friends and family as he has fought alcoholism for many years and it is now another addiction for him to battle.

A punter playing alongside Gascoigne at the deluxe Rendezvous Casino, told The Sun: "It was a very sad sight. He just kept putting money down and when it ran out he would just ask for more."

Dressed in jeans, T-shirt and denim jacket, scruffy Gascoigne looked totally out of place among the smart clientele as he lost thousands of pound while gulping down £200-a-bottle champagne.

The punter added: "His bets went from £50 up to £4,000. One minute he was up thousands and just a few hands later he had lost it all – either way he didn't seem to care.

"As he drank his hands were shaking and he'd tip his head back to get every last drop. Then it would be refilled and he'd do the same. He also started chain smoking, lighting fag after fag.

"In the end when he ran out he even started asking other people for ciggies. He must have got through four bottles and 100 cigarettes.

"People would recognise him, but he just mumbled. He was in a terrible state, his eyes were lifeless – and he looked like he'd pressed the self-destruct button."

Gascoigne, who arrived with a friend around 7pm, eventually left the casino by himself at 2am.

His spokeswoman Jane Morgan said: "Paul does not have a gambling problem. He was out on a previous night as well and won a considerable amount that time. He's up overall."

Does he is the former famous England soccer player? He looks thinner than before. I nearly don't recognize him...
