Yet ANOTHER gun massacre in a US school....

Featured Replies

OMG When I saw this on the news I almost cried, it is so horrible! Lancaster County is only an hour away from me, and I've been to Amish Country a million times. Seeing what happened scared me so bad. The people do not hurt anybody, They live in peace and don't bother anyone. Why a school?

I'm worried that it might happen even closer to me. I mean, Lancaster County is already close enough. And I have family there!

I'm so used to seeing the people there, and I never imagined that something like this would happen to them.

It's extremely sad!

That's one thing I like about Canada...it's hard to get a gun, unless you go to the states and buy one.

And while the gun didn't kill those children, the person did, the gun made it easier to take more lives than it would to say use a knife.

It's true, and sadly there's not much anyone can do about it.

The fact that it happened so close to me made me realize that it could happen to anyone. I mean, they are Amish!

Again its a culture issue' date=' he could have walked in with a sword and done this. Dont blame a tool for a man's evilness.[/quote']

1. It's difficult to keep more than one person hostage with a sword.

2. Even if he managed to kill one person with the sword the others would have time to escape.

You can't compare a sword to a gun.;)

Precisely. Well said.;)

You dont know that....its very possible he could have killed them with a sword or bomb.

Not little school kids, you dont even need a weapon for that.

He blocked all the exits so no one could leave, thus making it just as dangerous.

Guns are just the cheap way of killing, that s why they are popular, if you could take all of them away there would be just as much killing but with other weapons. Like i said its a mental problem not a gun problem

Bombs are far more complicated than guns.;)

It's still much easier to overpower somebody with a sword, plus it's far more difficult to conceal a sword.;)

Really because all you need is a little bit of money and the internet and you can easily build one.;)

Ive seen kids make powerful ones with ease and a little money, now if some kids could do it, a grown up could too.;)

Just as many people woud die if guns didnt exist. Instead of being skilled in shooting, people would be skilled in using a sword making it just as deadly. We will never help or solve anything going after the tools in which murder is done instead of the pyschological problems that cause it.

Guns are still a lot easier. They don't require any preparation.

They do, they needed to be cleaned, loaded correctly. And they have bombs you can make easily without much preperation and in a very short amount of time.

Gun control advocates just don't realize a simple truth, laws only affect the people who OBEY them.....

well in america where people are encouraged to have gun - you have a high gun murder.

In Britain where the opposite applies we have a low gun murder rate.

Can you imagine what would happen if 250,000,000 americans started walking around with guns? If i was a robber i'd know the other person has a gun and so i wouldnt just point a gun and ask them to hand over their wallet - i'd shoot them before they shot me.

Exactly. Guns just lead to more guns. The gun crime figures don't lie.;)

We cant restrict the black market' date=' its like drugs, we can nap suppliers and smugglers all day long without putting a dent into the problem. Guns can easily be smuggled into America. No videogames or show's lead to violence, if that was true we'd have tens of millions of people killing. Its a mental disease that leads to this. Lets not blame the things not involved with the problem, one thing i hate is blaming someone or something else for a problem. Its the persons fault, he's the problem, not a victim of video games or TV. It was a suicidal guy mad at god for his failure at life.[/quote']

Lets blame the real thing here' date=' mental illness, not video games not TV. Games dont cause violence, a mental or social problem does.[/quote']

people don't born with mental diseases, they become "psychos". and all those stupid influences like some brutal action films or videogames are really "helpful" in this process

Banning them why? what happened to freedom? We shouldnt loosen our goverements control on tv and video games' date=' its up to the parents to parent not the government.[/quote']

agree in part. parents should care more about their children, but it's the government who can change the laws and ban really brutal games. i personally have nothing against video games, i used to play myself, too, mainly sport simulators. but i also saw that my friends were "enjoying killing someone" in all those videogames...that's just wrong, many games and movies lead to violence and probably to mental disease, as well.

about freedom...i don't think many people in Europe would complain about freedom. some "american things" are being banned in several European countries if i'm not wrong, because of this or that danger...but people don't complain. so i don't think that banning some unnecessary things would be a disaster

America should change itself first and only after change someone else in the World...and it is the government that can do something against

And this problem will only grow as millions of illegals come in and more and more violent criminals come in to a already high murder rate in America. Lets go after the people who are to blame for this bullshit not TV or video games. Because America had a bad problem with murder before video games were around.

that's possible probably of too indulgent laws. too much freedom led to criminal, maybe? don't know, only guessing

No when encouraged to have guns you have a lower crime rate and less murder, as in the few city's who require guns have the lowest crime rates in america;)

Yes i can, less crime and if someone some day ever invaded us, we'd give em hell.

The facts speak for themselves when everyone's armed crime rates fall and fall far.

It's sad that all these gun shootings happen one after another. It starts with one incident, then ends up being all these other ones right after.

people don't born with mental diseases, they

become "psychos". and all those stupid influences like

some brutal action films or videogames are really

"helpful" in this process

People are born with it and society triggers it. But

without video games or TV something else would trigger

them to go off. We are attacking something that will

not solve anything instead of going after the root of

the problem, which is mental disorders.

their children, but it's the government who can change

the laws and ban really brutal games. i personally

myself, too, mainly sport simulators.

I believe in this crazy ass thing called freedom,

where the government shouldnt get involved in our

personal lives unless we are hurting someone else.

Whats next after banning games they say is bad? Music?

Coldplay causes depression lets ban that! oh that news

show its bad for government so it should be

banned..........it wouldnt stop there. Give power

hungry people a inch and they take a mile. Freedosm

should not be stopped by a government. I mean if that

they can say being gay is wrong and unsafe for america

and ban that.... we cant let any of our personal

freedoms go away.

but i also saw that my friends were "enjoying

killing someone" in all those videogames...that's just

wrong, many games and movies lead to violence and

probably to mental disease, as well.

They enjoy killing fake humans on a tv not real ones.

The only people that affects are the ones already

mental.

would complain about freedom. some "american things"

are being banned in several European countries if i'm

not wrong, because of this or that danger

.

What is truly sad is you dont undrstand how extremely

dangerous that is. When the government gets involved

with morality and issues like this it leads to alot of

freedoms getting taken away. IE in america most plays

gays cant get married....because the government is

putting its head into our society and taking away a

freedom. YOU may feel one way but it should not be

banned because alot of people feel it should be. Hell

that type of thinking leaders to fascism and genocides

and murder.

..but people don't complain. so i don't think

that banning some unnecessary things would be a

disaster

Whats unnecessary things to you may not be to other

and vise versa. What if some people believe Gays or

asians are "unnecessary"? Its not the governments

place to decide this type of personal issue. That

leads to fascism and violence and sometimes genocide.

Give em a inch they'll take a mile and then take more

and mo re until you have nothing left. As the people

of Germany who lived in ww2. When the government gets

involved like this bad things happen.

America should change itself first and only

after change someone else in the World...and it is the

government that can do something against

\

Change itself for the worse by becoming more

totalitaristic. Did you know in china the song Spies

by Coldplay is banned? Its bad for society:rolleyes:

And do what? take away guns from people who protect themselve while letting criminals have and use guns? Guns laws are shit' date=' they help no one but criminals. It would make a bad problem worse.[/quote']

you completely misread my post. never did i say that guns should be taken away "from people who protect themselves while letting criminals have and use guns" that's just nonsense. gun laws work in countries that enforce them and have strict policy on owning guns. of course it wouldn't be 100% full proof but nothing is.

criminals don't follow the law, that is afterall what makes them criminals so it isn't expected they comply but if there is foundation that makes it difficult to obtain guns, there would be less gun-inflicted crime than currently reported.

Thats the thing no matter what we do it will always be easy to get guns. Kinda like drugs, we spend so much time and money on stopping them, yet its not doing much good and tons are getting into america each day.
