Whatever they do, I'm still gonna love them for the genius they have put into their past stuff.

dark & heavy sounds good. anything's gotta be better than x&y, which was over-produced with very average singles

Well we know they're still writing songs with the piano because of the new song "Bucket for a Crown"...and dark is good :)

i think my favorite album from Coldplay Parachutes it must sound like that...

with all love songs like a message....

and with beautiful piano.... and guitar,bass like square one,talk

If it will be dark and heavy, i would love it if the band will do something similar to its earlier but excellent stuff like Such A Rush, Only Superstition and Bigger Stronger.

 

But I wish it won't do away with piano, because I think great songs like The Scientist, etc. is its forte.

some sunny little songs like sleeping sun = good.

lots of will+jonny+guy harmonies = good.

I think "heavier and darker" sounds pretty nice. I've also read somewhere that it will be more "electric", more synthezeisers (<--or however that's spelled... ^^). Personally I'm hoping for something that sounds very different from the previous coldplayalbums, but still great. I hope they don't make so many ballads... More experimental perhaps? I'm not so worried that it will be a bad album. i trust the guys.

I think it'll be nosier. Kinda like what R.E.M. did with Monster when Peter Buck wanted to get away from the sweet-sounding mandolin stuff for awhile. But I still think Coldplay will give us some piano and a couple ballads.

shall we see new coldplay? i don't think so:) it would be a great if their next album will be heavy and dark,

well, I think coldplay is going to fulfill a part of me that it has never fulfilled before.

I think that coldplay's album is going to be a great stuff and, perhaps, the best ever.

 

I wait for that coldplay album.

Fast, Dark & Heavy - I hope that would mean more stuff like Politik, but I would also like to hear some songs like Spies, and obviously stuff that i've never heard before. Im countin on them this time ;) .

X&Y was total pop trash (not that pop is bad at all, but compared to the last two albums...). If Coldplay are going truly darker and heavier, good. But heavier compared to X&Y isn't much.

 

And I think the idea of deliberately limiting what instruments you're going to use (ie piano) isn't healthy.

I really cant see the next album being up with Parachutes and AROBTTH.. As much as I hate to say it, I think the bigger they get, the less consistent they will become. I would imagine that EMI is putting alot of pressure on them, and especially with the whole internet thing, my guess is the next albums going to be so commercial, the whole boy band craze will reignite. Haha, I wouldnt take it that far, but I think they will be considered legit pop as opposed to alternative in the next few years.

 

Hopefully they will prove me wrong though.

But I cant honestly see them comming out with something brilliant.

Atleast till the 6th album.
