The scale of MX, immense. The little high pitched whirls in HLH, hard to explain but I picture molecules whizzing around... Whoa oh whoa in HLH and "yes i feel a little bit nervous.." and the outro The beginning of UATW, nice little bonus that we didn't hear from the live version The 'ahs' in UWTB The heart beat mirrored in AHT and at the end of DLIBYH. In AHT it feels like something immense is about to happen and then it stops, as though it were the calm before the storm, then bam, DLIBYH. How DLIBYH blends into UWTB All of the short interludes, they're like slices of heaven :)

I agree. I enjoy the cohesiveness of albums. Viva was a welcome and major improvement to X&Y for which I'm grateful but it lacked a common thread throughout the record. MX definitely has a common sound and a story woven throughout the songs so I'm very excited. I think this could be their best since A Rush of Blood. Of course, ROB and Parachutes are very dear to me but I think we tend to romanticize the past and perhaps that's why they mean so much and why we yearn for that sound again. I'm excited for new and different material and from what I've heard they've done a fantastic job this time around.

Well since we're all bored I thought I'd throw something out there. I wonder if MX will break the tradition of having a simple black disc. This is by far the most colourful artwork they've ever done so this would be the most logical time to break that tradition. What do you guys think?

I love the rationalization that leaking them is less immoral than selling them. Both are immoral. You say that Coldplay would rather have them leaked, I think they'd rather you not leak them at all.

I just can't believe the astounding quality of everything we've heard so far. I was worried because of x&y, but they really outdid themselves on this album. I can't wait to hear the album versions of this song and Death and all his friends, they're very moving songs.

It's very probable they edited it out for the Grey's Anatomy. TV edits the shit out of songs to fit them into the scene.

I agree with you completely. I can't see myself listening to many, if any, songs from X&Y after Viva la Vida comes out. The only songs from that album I can listen to now are Fix You, A Message, Swallowed in the Sea, and 'Til Kingdom Come.

Not at all because I thought the lyrics on X&Y were not very good when compared to Parachutes and A Rush of Blood or anything really...and the lyrics on Violet Hill, A Spell A Rebel Yell and especially Viva La Vida have blown everything on X&Y right out of the water. Also, you can tell they're proud of their lyrics this time around because of the emphasis on them in the artwork for the album.
