what do u think the next coldplay album will be like?

and is the following information stillt up to date?

 

"The next studio album is rumoured to be a fast, dark and heavy album, without pianos. At the Brit Awards, an annual UK awards ceremony, Chris Martin stated that we wouldn't see them for a long time, suggesting it would be some time before another studio album would be released, if at all. However, a day previously on Valentine's Day 2006 on UK Radio DJ Chris Moyles' Breakfast show, Martin said "The next album is very good, and I know because it is already written", and rumours are that the band will hire their own 'HQ' studio in the style of Kraftwerk's 'Kling Klang' base to record it, so it would seem there is more to come from Coldplay yet."

I heard about this "dark and heavy" thing as well....and can't even imagine what they mean with that.....makes me a bit afraid....this description sounds a bit like a heavy metal band...ahhaha...

 

but I want to listen to a good Coldplay album-----

a better album than X&Y.......

i heard chris describing "god put a smile upon my face" as a coldplay song which is a bit more heavier.if that is what he understands as heavy,

that would be ok for me. gpasumf is a very good song in my eyes.

I think dark for coldplays standards is like Politik...which I love!

i dunno, but more songs like talk, White shadows, Low would be awesome!

I want more piano with guitar sound...it's just amazing...

i love the paino and guitar sound, but i also want them to move past the previous cds as a band and i sure they dont want to do the same sort of stuff... so im looking forward to the new stuff, cos they will never put anything out that would be crap

any material coldplay will release for their 4th album will be great, "dark and heavy" and nothing short of great. i rather like the piano-guitar mix and as long as they don't totally abandon one instument, i'm happy. more stuff like politic and gpasuyf would be great.

 

i'm positive they would only feel comfortable releasing an album they have poured their heart and soul into, something you cannot rush and i'm willing to wait for.

That's part of the reason I love Coldplay songs so much...

I would love to hear the atonal guitar that Miller was talking about in the tour journal. Also, the E-bow and slide need to make a comeback. Jonny is fucking brilliant with those things and they need to be put on the forefront again.

 

And the dark and heavy thing could be bass distortion, backwards effects, minor chords and weird time signatures. That would be brilliant.

 

Also, I think that they need to fool around with the harmonizing (Make it a bit more dynamic though) and add some sonorous piano. They also should experiement with things like pedal basses and maybe two bass parts or flattened cymbals and huge toms and auxillary percussion. Maybe add some heavy cello and maybe even try out a few brass instruments.

 

Basically, they need to just go effing crazy and push everything to the limit.

God Put A Smile Upon Your Face is my least favorite coldplay style, unfortunately, so I hope it's not too much like that song...

jonny said he wanted the new album to be a bit edgier. i read that in a magazine somewhere.

i just want something new from coldplay, something i've never heard from them before.

Dark and heavy for Coldplay is like, GPASUYF :dozey: lol, so I'm not too worried.

And this no pianos bullshit is driving me crazy! CP without pianos is like a fish without fins...bad analogy but you get the point.

I hope the return of the piano (as the same importance than guitar) and with more "second voices" with Will and Jonny.
