Fashion

Featured Replies

So.... here's the thread about fashion which I was dared to open. :P

Here are some questions about fashion and stuff...

1. Do you follow the fashion or do you try to stay unique without following trends?

2. What do you find trendy?

3. Where do you buy clothes?

4. And what's so great about H&M?

Happy posting! :D

well what about you? You didn't post any answers to your questions

Hmmm well let's see if I can answer these questions without sounding stupid. :P

1. With trends, I don't really care about them. I mean, if I like it, I'll wear it. But just because everyone else is wearing it doesn't mean that I will. In fact, I will lose interest in some clothes if everyone wears them just because it's 'in'. I find that it loses its uniqueness.

2. What do I find trendy...hmmm. Like I answered in the first question, I'm not big on trends. I either like something or I don't. I do get some ideas of what I like from ELLE, but I'm not Lindsay Lohan, where I am a trend hanger from head to toe. That's just really annoying. Besides, ELLE is slightly more sophisicated than Teen People, dont' cha think?

3. I shop everywhere. Gap, H&M, Old Navy, Delias....Macys and those department stores. I also shop at bargain stores, like Ross. I find absolutely amazing things there for so cheap! :) I will say, that I DEFINITELY dont' shop at those 'prep' stores, like Hollister, Abercrombie or whatever. I can't ever believe why kids these days would buy a crappy tshirt for $40.

4. Here my perspective of H&M: Where I live, EVERYONE wears what I call 'cookie cutter' clothes, such as Hollister, Abercrombie and American Eagle. It's truly disgusting. You have no idea how many popped collars and ripped jeans I see everyday. No one has any originality. Where I live, having H&M is like a breath of fresh air. There are a lot of different items there, and the style is unique. That's why I always shop there. It's more in my unique style and things are a lot more sophisicated and not crappy like Hollister. People may stare, but hey, I look good! ;)

Although people stare, many compliment me for my sense of style. Not because I shop at H&M, but just how differently I dress than anyone else, yet still look good. I have what some people call 'creativity'.

In conclusion, fashion may be about nice clothes or whatever, but style is where you put your own personality into your fashion. People care too much about what everyone else is wearing that what is called 'fashionable' for people my age is humiliating.

I'm not trying to criticize anyone's style here AT ALL. That's just how I see it when I observe people my age's style. I'm sure you guys have impeccable taste. ;)

Actually, I guess I can't really complain. If everyone where I live follows my advice, I wouldn't be so special, huh...:laugh3:

I'm getting some new clothes by these dates... yayyyy

I really need them... :uhoh:

Btw, don't know how to say it... but sometimes I like to dress really well and look good and sometimes I can be lazy and just wear a tshirt and pants, without a hair comb, just as it comes after the shower... just for confort. Heh. :D

1. Well I don't want to look like I just stepped out of a time capsule!- but everyone in my school wear variations of basically the same outfit and I don't dress like them.

2. What do I find trendy? Well, I wear a lot of pink and blue and green. Hmm. Well, my favorite shirt is this short sleeved tan vest shirt- thingy. I don't know how to describe it. No! My favorite shirt is this one I Have with a scull on it. And I only have 5 skirts and wear one.

3. Wear do I buy clothes? I haven't bought clothes in a while...The mall, i guess? I honestly can't tell you the name of the store.

4. H&M- Never been but would like to go! The kids at my school who have something on from that store have really nice things on.

Oh, but I love Claires! And Hot Topic and Forever 21. I usually buy crap from stores that no ones ever heard of. I like this one store "Rainbow."

My school has a really strict dress code and i try to avoid what's "trendy" So for me it's usually t-shirt and pants.

^^Oh and I forgot to mention Hot Topic! A lot of the stupid ignorant popular kids are scared of that store because they think it's 'goth'. That really annoys me. The people there are very nice and they have awesome stuff. There's this Andy Warhol bag I want from there! :D

I love Hot Topic. I once went to the mall with two of my friends and one of them literally STOOD OUTSIDE of the store because she was afraid to go in. :laugh3:

But you find that all kinds of people go in there. A month ago I was in there and these two girls dressed in pink came in, this rastafarian (spelling?) guy, and even gangstas! :o Even this like, three year old came in saying to his dad, "Candy????"

:laugh3:

*edit* And the nail polish that you can buy from there drys really fast!!! :D

You'd be surprised to look at me, but I'll go into Hot Topic before I go into Hollister. A lot of the stuff in there is really cool, and fairly cheap.

I still prefer Old Navy, though!

Speaking of style and fashion, I need to vent.

Okay so there is this girl in my classes. She's really nice and all, but she's starting to copy me in everything! I dress differently, and apparently she noticed. She's one of those 'cookie cutter' people that wear shit like Hollister. One day she starts copying my hair. And NO ONE, I repeat, NO ONE can EVER copy my hair. It's a rule. My hair is what makes me me. It's my trademark, and everyone knows that. And I mean everyone. She copied the style, and even my trademark black headband!!

I wear belts with certain belts, and I always cinch them at the waist. After I wear them for a couple of days, she starts doing the same.

I wear ballet flats almost everyday. I wore them everyday before they were 'trendy'. She kept staring at my shoes one day, and suddenly she starts wearing them ALL THE TIME.

For my presentation I brought in an extra change of clothes in a plastic H&M bag. And the next day she does the same for her presentation. AND SHE DOESN'T EVEN WEAR H&M.

Not only does she copy my style and the stores I shop at, but she tries to be friends with my friends. And she's the kind of person that if you were considered 'cool' or 'normal', she won't give a shit. And all of a sudden she starts trying to be friends with my friends!!!!!!

And, she copies the way I act. If I say something, she'll say it too.

God this probably sounds so incredibly stupid and immature, but it has always bugged me.

I can't really relate because no one copies me, but I can see how that can get annoying. But she looks up to you, which means you have great fashion sense :D (it sounds like you do) She one of those poser types. They're so annoying, my friend has a problem with one of them.

OH! You know what I hate! I hate when you've been doing something for a while and then you stop and suddenly everyone is doing it and now you can't do it anymore because you don't want to seem like a poser!!! Does that make sense???

Exhibit A:

I got bangs. Now they're starting to grow out and now suddenly everyone wants bangs. Now I'm afraid to cut mine back to their proper length!

B: I usually wear black nail polish. I stop ONCE and wear pink, and these popular girls start wearing it because they think it's cool! And guess what I can't wear now!?! God.

Fashion is so complicated :dozey:

^^Oh I know how you feel. I got bangs and everyone else gets them. Well you know what?!?!? I'm gonna fucking chop my hair off and dye in bubblegum pink, and see who else will copy it! MMMMMMMMMMWWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

^I think we'd all need to see those pics! Hahaha

Oh, Annie don't :P

But, yeah, copiers or people who do things just because they're "cool" are so annoying. Now I can't wear black nail polish! I have to wait at least a week after the take it off so it won't seem like I'M copying.

God, now there are like, fashion rules...>.<

Yeah, I know. My school is infested with people like that.

Are you allowed to wear jeans in your school? We aren't, and we also can't wear shirts with writing on them, and the boys have to wear a buttoned up shirt and tie. So, from the start there's not much to chose from. I try to avoid Dillards like the plague, they all shop there.

*edit* And, A&F, and Aeropostle, see? My choices get narrower and narrower....

Yeah I go to a public school, so we can wear stuff like that.

Hmmm Dillards...I don't think we have it here. What is that?

It's a clothing store. A really expensive one too. :o They sell all kinds of stuff, I DID get my homecoming dress from there.

OMG! Do the girls at your school, like, layer their tops? Oh, do you wear burkenstocks (spelling)??? all the girls in my school do. Damn, we might as well wear uniforms!!! >.<

OMG YES THEY DOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EVERY SINGLE GIRL wears birkenstocks. No joke. Exact same fucking Birkenstocks. How annoying is that? I wore them last year, and now all of a sudden every single fucking person wears them!!! WTF????

I hate how they layer t shirts. It's still gonna be a tshirt, damn it! At least when i layer, it's a dress with a turtleneck, or a tank top with a plain shirt.

Those. fucking. shoes. OMG >.<

This conversation makes me dread going to school Monday. :laugh3:

I only layer my button-up shirts. I bend the rules a little and put a shirt with writing or a pic on and then another shirt and button up the first two buttons.

Man, it's so hard trying to find your "personal style." when everyone dresses the same and shops at the same place, it's kinda boring. I wonder if the girls even know what that is at my school.

I want them to keep dressing the same way, so then I can always be unique and different. :P

Hmmm I wonder the same............................................

My closet is a MESS. I think I should clean it, then I can see what I can wear on Monday.

I ask for clothes for Christmas, but my mom says I'm picky. :dozey:

I know! I'll just ask for gift cards. Oh, do you shop at Macy's? I never bought anything from there, but they have such nice stuff...
