I do get oppurtunities but things don't turn out the way I hope they would and unexpected things are always knocking on my door...and then when something bad happens it get tiring after a while.. that's all:)

Just say yes more.

If you say no then nothing will happen, if you say yes then something will happen.

Yes i will call you

Always say no to drugs and sex with strangers - not worth the risk!

Those were the opportunities you were talking about?

I don't believe... or wait I really don't know...

Too many unknown things in this universe... :stunned:

Yep i do, its like luck really. If you think lucky then you are generally lucky.

I've known people who do bad things and they get their comeupance (is that how you spell that word?) in the end.

I dont believe in karma but i do believe in you reap what you sow.

Err that is what Karma is.

Err that is what Karma is.

No it is not my friend.

Karma-the force generated by a person's actions held in Hinduism and Buddhism to perpetuate transmigration and in its ethical consequences to determine the nature of the person's next existence

reaping what you sow and Karma are different. One is based on religion and spiritual stuff the other is based on reaping what you sow. The big difference is in "reaping what you sow" there is nothing spiritual.

They are similar but not the same

If you gonna be anal about it then yea your right.

Anyway if you do believe in Karma then by being nice you'll get it returned,

If you dont believe in Karma then you can be safe in the knowledge that by being nice, someone will have had their day made!

like i said earlier, it's all in the mind. if you believe in karma, then you consciously choose to see things in that way.

i believe in karma and it's been a great positive in my life so i have no basis in not believing. when something terrible happens to me, i look back at something i could've done that would've made it eventuate, and of course there is always something, so in turn i avoid making that mistake which once again, makes my life that more problem-free. (not sure if this is making sense as i'm quite distracted at the moment...watching a movie :embarassed: lol)

"You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."

Was looking for a certain B5 quote the other day and came across that one. A bit of food for thought.

I think actions having consequences hardly counts as karma- if you're a jerk, and tick people off, they aren't exactly going to do nice things for you. If you go out of your way to be kind and helpful, people might like you and help you when you need it. It's not really mystical- just human nature.

As far as I won the lottery because i saved a puppy from drowning last week goes, I don't really believe in that, beyond a psychological level. Genuine positive thinking can change how a person behaves subconciously- thus making your own luck.

But like Briggins said- I prefer grace. Forgiveness always trumps comeuppance.

If you gonna be anal about it then yea your right.

Not anal, just correcting you. You spoke up in the first place! I was correcting you're bitching.

  • 1 year later...

nostalgia.

this thread is old, but i didn't wanna open a new one.

so, yeah.

another year has passed and what's to say?

did karma do its job?

really, there's nothing we get in return.

this ain't another depressing post, it's the goddamn truth.

we try to be the best person possible and we don't get anything back.

fuck it.

i hate it.

it's not worth it.

basically, you can be a shit person and still get the same rewards such as good marks. doesn't matter. people don't see you're a good person anyway.

I know how you feel. I tried to do alot of good things this year, and I got completely shit on. I've always believed you get what you give, but I sure didn't give out the kind of crap I got this year. I must have been evil in a past life to earn this crap.

It's getting better though.
