What should I do??

Featured Replies

Well yesterday I was speaking to the guy I like and he invited me to another friends house to hangout but I'm not sure whether I should go. As much as I'd like to go it would be really weird for these reasons:

1. The guys who's place it is at is the only person who knows I like this other guy.

2. And this guy's (the person whose place its at) brother is in my class and we dont get along very well nor does he know I'm friends with his brother.

3. They are quite a bit older than me.

4. My brother is best friends with the guy I like.

I hope all that made sense and please gimme advice!!!

oh well spontaneously I would say:

You should go......

but I don't really know your situation although you named these reasons.....

haha how much older is he?

5 years...not as bigger age difference as in your situation.

Haha yeah i don't know though. I would be the odd one out; me and a bunch of 24 year old guys playing x-box....sounds like fun :P

If my brother were to come with me it'd be fine but he is in Melbourne :(

well... I think there's no need to rush things... I mean, if you won't feel confortable there and if he likes he'll invite you again, somewhere else...

Oh yes I understand you there-----I would also feel better if a freind would come with me today....;)

and guys playing x-box...yes that really sounds like fun....

I can remember when I waited for some friends with two friend of mine (guys...) at one friend's house......they were sitting in front of the computer and talking about computer things....I didn't understand anything....:P

That's true. I will pursuede my brother to invite him over here very soon anyway! :sneaky: It's not very often I see him outside school events because he lives an hour out of town so I don't want to regret anything.

well, in my opinion reasons 3rd and 4th aren't important. Doesn't matter if the guy you like is your brother's best friend, nor if the age difference you have with them is 5years.

regarding your first reason: do you think the guy who's place it's at would say to the guy you like that you like him?

regarding your second reason: it could be a bit annoying the fact of meeting that guy's brother in the party, but I suppose you wouldn't talk to him and that would be all, right? or do you think it'd create an awkward situation between you?

just listen to X&Y that'll tell you wot to do..... no wait, its aweful.....follow your heart, u wanta go obv cos u started this thread, so go!

Well, I'm certain he wants to say. It just a matter of time. And it will be very awkward because I will be the last person in the world they will be expecting.

Last night when I was lying in bed I had a relelation and txted my friend and said I can go...I just hope I don't chicken out! :)

let's hope so!

I wish you have a nice party with them, then! :)

anyway, once you make this meeting... tell us how it was!

Ok, well once I got there it was okay...still a bit awkward but then we started playing and it was alright. They absolutely flogged me haha. At the end I was the last one still there with my friend so he was asking lots of questions about the guy I liked etc... Overall, it was good. They were very welcoming. :)

aw thanks nice annie, i'm glad you had a great time. if anything, it has helped develop your relations :nice:

thats good to hear!

i probably would have been bored haha. i just cant understand how some guys can play computer games for hours or even watch other people playing.

Hahahahaha, funny because for a second there it sounded like something one of you fucking hippie coldplay fans would come out with. 'Listen to Chris! Lights will guide you home!'

Ummm as for the thread, my official advice is:

Just go, you'll definately have a good time, the guys will probably be very warm and welcoming, the guy you dont like wont even seem like an issue worth mentioning afterwards, and hey you'll get killed on x-box but it'll be fun anyway. Besides if your friend is there you can always fall back on him and you'll probably end up staying afterwards with him and chatting and having a killer time to see off the night.

Hope that helps.

*Pretends he didnt read the 2nd page* :nice:

Tell us more:P

Ok, I'll try :P

Well when I got there we just played halo 2 yada yada yada and my friend was trying to set me and this guy up which I thought was very nice of him :D I was really shy though, barely spoke...probs coz i was the only girl there. I felt a little out of place. At the end i was the last one there waiting for mum to come pick me up but she was late so it was just me and my friend. (Oh and mum didnt know who i was hanging out with...:sneaky:) But yeah we just talked and I got to know them a bit better and next time (hopefully there will be one) i will be much more outgoing and less uncertain! :D
