I was listening to this CD last night, when my dad (Who despises Coldplay) came in my room and said 'are u alright?' I replied, 'yea, why?', then he says 'I just thought u were gonna kill urself', I asked y he thought this and he said 'this is a kill yourself album'

 

Errr.... I dont see how, its relaxing.

AROBTTH is a good album... not a "kill yourself"one...

Well, I suppose maybe he just saw the cover? Man, that cover art threw me for a loop the first time I saw it as well! Some of the songs are a bit sad, but then for the most part, the majority of them are uplifting - it's like life! Some downs, but mostly ups!! Though they all have great emotional depth. Anyhow, try and get your dad to watch the Youtube video clip shot live of the band playing Clocks in Vancouver, 2006 - best I've seen yet!:) (looks like 100,000+ audience as well!!)

The best albums have those ups and downs:) . I'm never sure which album is my favorite, but I'd have to say A Rush Of Blood is the best of the 3 as far as arrangements and musicianship are concerned.

 

Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen...now those are the people making kill-yourself albums,lol! Really good kill-yourself albums though.:)

I think just for that you should play Coldplay cd's really loud every day!

Just because AROBTTH has a few sad songs doesnt make it a kill yourself album in my opinion. I think it inspires me when i'm down.

Warning Sign and Amsterdam could be taken as kill yourself songs.

I don't think AROBTTH is a kill yourself album...actually I can't think of many kill yourself abums! But it sure isn't very happy...

Actually ... the best album ever!!

Loads of people who don't like Coldplay consider (or at least claim) their music to be depressing. Fans don't.

There are bands that i don't particularly like and refer to them as depressing (e.g. my chemical romance).

Each to their own.
