Well today school was cancelled for us because of the ghastly weather and I did not get to see my Valentine or give him my present! I had to cope with just calling him but I'll see him tomorrow.

For the first time ever, something nice happened on Valentine's, (though it actually happened yesterday but whatever) it was quite a pleasant surprise.

My Valentine's Day is spent sitting around watching TV and being a total bum. :smug:

It is the day for hopeless romantics. Or it would be if they weren't so hopeless.

More than half of women - 54 per cent - can't stand Valentine's Day. And the reason, it would seem, is the ineptitude of their other halves.

 

 

 

Even worse, 12 per cent have been dumped on February 14, while 7 per cent have been stood up.

 

Indeed the occasion seems to be more popular with men. Only 37 per cent of men said they disliked Valentine's Day.

 

Only 12 per cent of women said they loved the most romantic day of the year, compared with a quarter of men.

 

Events company CitySocialising.com questioned 1,343 people about their attitude to Valentine's Day and whom their ideal date would be.

 

It wasn't film-star looks or a billion-pound bank balance that proved the biggest draw for women.

 

Instead, they went for men with a sense of humour, with TV presenter Dermot O'Leary (36 per cent) narrowly beating DJs Johnny Vaughan (29 per cent) and Chris Moyles (27 per cent).

 

Sanchita Saha, Managing Director of CitySocialising.com, said: "I was staggered when we went through the findings and saw that women are now getting fed up with Valentines Day."

My friend, when she was still dating, as all happy about Valentine's Day and talked about how she loved the cutesy stuff, and then her and her boyfriend broke up. When Valentine's Day came around, she was all 'Ugh Valentine's Day is so fake, I can't stand those girls and how they get flowers...' :rolleyes:
