Ok, let's say it is.

 

I get something I have wanted for a very long time out of it, EMI or no EMI- a good collector's set of all the singles. EMI gets something to make a big deal about without alienating the die-hard fans by over-marketing it to the uncaring masses. Coldplay get to avoid the embarrasment of a premature greatest hits album.

 

Sounds like a win-win-win situation to me.

^^ except that if we wanted to order the pencils, mood clock, puzzle, various dated gig posters, and some other merch that were/or still are for sale in the UK/ROW shop, we're fucked. Eilther pay thrice the price at eil or wait for them to pop up for double on eBay. they threw us one bone; don't feel too sore about it.

It's that fact that US orders for the box set get a free oversized mug while we get nothing. To be honest, I don't really care about "the mug" it's just the thought process that has gone into it...."we'll give US fans a free gift......but nothing free for the UK"......that is just odd.
