Confirmed: Timbaland To Work With Coldplay

Featured Replies

Nice Idea .. ! Timbaland is so good as a producer .

i dont really like this idea. We'll have to see how it turns out. Maybe hes just giving straight up advice to the guys.

First off, there nothing wrong with rap as long as it's good. Unfortunately most rap ISN'T good. But this album will NOT be a rap album.I'm sure Coldplay, Eno, and Timbaland will work together and do their best to make the most creative album yet. That we'll probably all love.:) So just chill.

Besides, It's not like Timbaland is in control. There is no way that he will do anything Chris doesn't approve of. Plus, I think a little R&B/Soul influence in this album would be fantastic!

I don't like rap, so it would be great if there will not be any hiphop or pop elements in their music. I realy want to hear a good britpop sound, yes maybe it's a good idea but timbaland hasn't to forget about coldplay's style you know, so we'll see what will be a result, i hope it will be a great album:)

This album's gonna be weird lol, but in a good way I'm sure. Bucket For A Crown in itself is testament to that - old Russian stylee piano sound if ya get me, a la The Pianist, but with a modern feel. How exciting...

hm, gosh hope the album doesn't flow toward a pop direction

because, of course, that hasn't already happened.

That's what producing is.

The album won't have any R&B or rap in it. If somehow it does. It's the end of Coldplay, unless it was some kind of B-Side joke song. Otherwise, I'm pretty much done.

There might be some new electronic parts to their music I'm hearing from some places which both Timbaland and Eno are familiar with.

For anyone still thinking this'll be R&B Timbaland already said that the main reason he would want to work with Coldplay would be to branch out.

Eno will still be in charge. Timbaland will probably be a minor roll. But with U2, Eno co-produced with another guy, I can't remember his name right now though. It was Daniel Lanois. So he's done it before.

Also, I'm hearing the album will be will be My Bloody Valentine influenced. Coldplay gone Shoegaze would be very very good.

I think Chris should leave the piano a bit. They should explore some electronica. Listen to different kinds of music. They need to leave their comfort zone. Only then will they be great again.

Oh, also, to the people saying they don't want Coldplay to be pop, they already are. You either have a misdirected view of pop, or something, but Coldplay is very pop. Not saying it's a bad thing, but they are.

I see pop as anything that is overly popular. Coldplay are the biggest band in the world right now, so...

I wish that word would stop having a negative connotation. Bubblegum pop is the genre that no one respects. Pop and pop culture have been around forever. Not all of it lacks artistic merit.
