How you see the world?

Featured Replies

I'm sure most of the people on this board have heard the Coldplay song and maybe interpreted it for what Chris Martin had to say, which is a good message by the way. However, I've recently thought deeply about what the title means to me and specifically, how do 'I' see the world.

Not many people have had the opportunity, as I have, to live in two different countries on our planet and therefore get two different world views, i.e. perspectives of the world around us. I think the answer to the question can say much about who we are and who we think we are. The answer, however, can change from day to day depending on what we learn or figure out for ourselves as it has for me over the years. So, to get to the point, I'd like to know what people here on this board think of the world.

To get is started, here are just some of my thoughts:

The world is definitely in trouble and many of its problems are caused by circumstance and being unfortunate, but, too many people are affected adversely by the decisions and actions of a few wealthy elite that because they don't see it or don't care, have a completely warped view of the world. It seems to me that no one in any position of power acts in the interest of humanity but rather in those of political and/or financial gain. I believe this does not lead the future of the Earth down a bright path, to say the least.

P.S. If anyone was wondering, I lived in Jamaica for 14 years until 2001 when I moved to Canada and please share your thoughts.

Nobody wants to know. Cos nobody even cares. Oh everyone's out for themselves TRAVIS

John Lennon was the closest we had to The Second Coming. He was a freak x&y force of nature, politik...that today's bands like Coldplay, Travis, David Gray, James Blunt, Damien Rice, Snow Patrol, Keane, Muse can only muster a fraction of Lennon's gusto, bravado, mass protest x&y ACTION. I love the HYSTW lyric: '...you can't believe what you learn...' as it leads to this whole nullifying, soul deflating Science evolution brainwashing we see in our high schools, something the anti-Christian Illuminati have won in the ideological debate stakes (well according to Dan Brown's ANGELS x&y DEMONS which I'm only 70 pages through, so no spoilers please). Do we want the young generation to believe we are insignificant specks of sand, just highly evolved animal monkeys (who‘s only purpose is to $crew around, glutton/satieties, pro-create, consume resources ad nauseum), a speck in the grand scheme of the universe? Now back on topic. To change the world we will ALL to need to change. Not just one, or a thousand, but ALL. We have to revolutionise x&y change the whole family marriage structure as this concept/entity is a resource HOG. Of course you will only spend money on your family, screw the rest, screw the starving Africans or the Asian factory slaves who make our affluence so much comfortable. There has to be a mass psychological shift. For that to happen, we need Fight Club like warriors in the west who are prepared to lose status, ego x&y do WEIRD things. What I don't know. But the Wright Brothers were considered crazy for ever dreaming of flying. Really for humanity to succeed we have to eliminate the system of money. Doctors/lawyers should NEVER earn more x&y have a better life than a cleaner or a factory worker. Really what can one person do with a million dollars except waist it on fast polluting four-wheel drives, prostitutes, drugs, booze...Pardon my brainstorming session, anybody want to patent my stream of conciousness thinking as: '...They put the world in a tin can black market, contraband x&y it hurt just a little bit, when they sliced x&y packaged it...'

Angels and Demons is a great book, what an ending, I hope you enjoy it. There is a movie of it being released next year by the way, I can't wait!!!

Anyway, I agree that John Lennon was like the second coming, the lengths he went to to change the world and spread the word of peace. 'Give Peace A Chance' should still be getting 24/7 radio airplay today to drive it into the heads of the morons that rule the world that shooting people and invading nations is a ridiculous way of sorting out problems. I've never understood war and I never will, and nobody will change my opinion. This is quite a big topic to cover extensively. There's so much wrong with the world! It's ridiculous that people are starving every single day, it's ridiculous that footballers and footballer's wives get more money for doing nothing than nurses and doctors who SAVE PEOPLES LIVES! People in general are morons. The other day I was waiting to cross the road and a guy pulled down his car window and spat at me, totally unprovoked. Yesterday I was taking a walk with my family and some kids on bikes coming towards started doing crazy bike stunts right as we passed each other which really pissed me off, and some other kids who were playing with a football/soccer ball near us started kicking it manically at us and around us when we walked past. It annoys me that girls get pregnant at 13 and then sponge off benefits for the rest of their lives, it annoys me that Tony the clown Blair is actually paying them these benefits. Politicians in general annoy me, spawn of the devil. It annoys me that we are constanly warned about climate change, yet we are bombarded with competitions to win gas guzzling cars - total bulls**t. People always have been and always will be the root of all evil.

HOW DID THE CLOWNS EVER TAKE CONTROL.
