Coldplay cover "Barbie Girl"

Featured Replies

Coldplay continued their tradition of bizarre cover versions by belting out Aqua's 'Barbie Girl' while on tour in Scandinavia.

The group are currently on tour in northern Europe promoting their second album 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head'.

According to fans at the show in the Copenhagen VK Hall (November 21), Chris Martin and Johnny Buckland covered Aqua's 'Barbie Girl', the Scandinavian pop group's massive 1997 hit.

One told NME.COM: "Yes it is true! Chris Martin and Johnny Buckland covered 'Barbie Girl' with Chris doing the Barbie voice and Johnny doing Ken. It was awful and yet amazing at the same time but they had to quit one minute in to the song because they couldn't stop laughing and it really was a spectacular sight!"

:eyecrazy:

i recon the Wimbles of Wombledon could be their next hit :silly:

"You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere"... Mmmmmmkaaaay!! hystericallaugh.gif

I would love to hear that cover version (and the laughing afterwards...) - must be hilarious!!

It's good to know I'm not the only one that remembers this song (and the video)!!! Haha! I wanna hear it!

No, Ada, you're not the only one...

"I'm a barbie girl, in a barbie world. Life in plastic, it's fantastic. You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere. Imagination, life is your creation."

Awwwwwww!! Now I won't get rid of the song ever. That was one of those really bad but catchy songs... :(

Great Kat! Now I have that song and the image of that bald guy in the video stuck in my head! :?

You're welcome, Ada!! At least I'm not the only one...

I wanna hear that...i'd probably go crazy with laughter...

argh... why did i just read this thread.... noooooo.... now today is going to be even more unbearable :(

*must think of another catchy song*

*falls into insanity!*

i have so far managed to not even hear the s club juniors song yet. and the other week, there was a song at number 1 and i hadn't even heard it - I felt very out of touch with the kids of today  :)

With you being soooo old, Jane...

what's s club juniors, i only know s club 7 :?

theyre like the ickle s'club 7'ers

They're younger...

I have to admit I like some S Club songs, as far as pop songs go... (yes, you can laugh), but not too into Juniors... :?

S Club 7 were great when it was the first season in Florida, after that it went downhill.

That's not fair all the men in S Club are minging

I'm a closet Justin Timberlake fan. peepwallA.gif I'd love to see Chris singing 'Like I love you' rolling_eyes.gif

That would be so coool!!! "Don't fear me, baby, it's just Chris." HA HA!!

By the way, I love the Gaelic name of Dublin! How do you pronounce that again? I knew it when I was in Ireland five years ago but I can't remember...
