Last.fm soft-launches a subscription service

Featured Replies

Music-based social networking and Internet radio service Last.fm recently soft-launched a subscription service, according to Wired.com.

The ad-free subscription service costs $3/month and offers more interactivity. A "full-fledged" subscription service would be available by the summer, according to Martin Stiksel, a founder of Last.FM.

As previously reported, the company recently inked a deal with The Orchard and previously struck similar licensing deals with Warner Music Group and EMI.

Just launched?

Since I been using Last.fm, it has had a paid-for subscription service

i think that being unsubscribed is good as well. i mean, i once had a free subscription, but there wasn't much about it. more radio stations, that's true, but that was almost all that was worth having.

I use it just to keep track of what I listen to.
