May 13, 200719 yr The following is a little feature I'm doing on my blog this week. So this week I will be doing a top 15 music video countdown, which has been hard for me first of all to narrow it down to 15 videos, and then to order them. These videos are all personal favourites of mine. I make my judgements based on originality, the way the video is shot, the presentation of the band playing (if available), and just the affect it has on me. Without further adieu, the number 15 video. 15 - Johnny Cash - Hurt Director: Mark Romanek This video make my list because it was one of the last works of music that we were able to see Johnny Cash. It is pretty clear that he is going to die soon which makes it a very chilling video to watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO9dbmJ_2zU 14 - Cold War Kids - Hang Me Up To Dry Director: Malloy Bros I chose this video because I love the way it is directed and the storyline that goes along with the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrrGKR8Xii4 13 - Arcade Fire - Power Out Director: Plates Animation An outstanding animated music video that goes along with the song perfectly. The way the sparks fly when the drum beats is a nice touch. The little guys remind my of Jawas off of Star Wars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqGiCXtvokM 12- Feist - My Moon My Man Director: Patrick Daughters The newest released video to make my list. I like this video just because Leslie Feist does a great job dancing and really catches the flow of the song. The fact she is on a moving side walk makes it that much cooler. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWrNCCx2p5U 11 - U2- Last Night On Earth Director: Richie Smyth What can I say? This video kicks some serious butt. May 14, 200719 yr Author 10 - Razorlight - In the Morning I have a weakness for Razorlight, but I do think this video is fantastic. I like all the strange body movements everybody is making throughout the video and also the brown tinge the band has while performing. http://youtube.com/watch?v=tN-GkTKJ-ps 9 - Franz Ferdinand - Do You Want To This video is very strange, but I love it. Just so much random stuff going on at all times in a little room. One reason I like it is because it is done by my favourite photographer/director in the music industry; Anton Corbijn. May 15, 200719 yr Author Oh woops, I didn't realize I messed up on those numbers. ofc zooropa,their worst I wouldn't go that far. Its definitely more experimental than their other albums but it has some gems on it such as Lemon and Stay (Faraway So Close), one of my favourite U2 songs ever.
May 15, 200719 yr Author 5 - Radiohead - Just I couldn't decide how high to rank this video because I like it so much. The storyline that goes along throughout the video is cool and mysterious. And then when they remove the sub titles at the end while everybody is waiting (including the band) to see what he is saying! Aghh its frustrating but it leaves plenty of room for discussion and interpretation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5X7HKxpiQA 4 - Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California When this video first came out I was obsessed with it. I just love all their imitations of bands, its like a history of rock n' roll packed in one video. How do they possibly do all that stuff on the treadmills so synchronized? But it's your list. Yeah I didn't put No Suprises there because for some reason I don't like that song. I was very close to making it because it is an excellent video.
