November 23, 200718 yr Dear love letter: You're dumped Last updated at 23:41pm on 22nd November 2007 Comments Out of love: Britons rarely write love letters nowadays Over the years, millions have chosen the written word to reveal their deepest emotions. But now, it seems, we have fallen out of love with the letter when it comes to communicating with our sweethearts. According to a survey less than one in five - 17 per cent - have received a love letter from an admirer in the past year. And only 28 per cent have had one in the past five years. More than a third - 35 per cent - of those aged between 16 and 34 have never written a letter to a loved one. That compares to just 14 per cent for the over-55s, a survey of more than 1,000 people for the Bradford & Bingley building society found. Singletons were more likely to have received a love letter than those who were married or living together. However, letter writing has retained its popularity when it comes to staying in touch with loved ones. Nearly two-thirds - 63 per cent - of those questioned had received a personal letter from a friend or family member within the past six months and only six per cent said they had never received such a letter. More than half - 51 per cent - had written a personal letter in the past six months. A letter also remains the most popular way of saying thankyou, however, with more than a third - 34 per cent - preferring to put pen to paper. Bradford & Bingley head of savings Paul Whitlock said: "The old-fashioned love letter appears to have had its day, but writing a letter remains a popular way of staying in touch."

November 23, 200718 yr Haha no I'm far from that. And at least my spam isn't completely idiotic or obnoxious. I mean the "I'm all alone" thread generated some good conversation. Just like this one is. There is no spam. All is spam.

November 24, 200718 yr yes. I have written a few. and some e-mails... don't know if that counts here. the first love letter I've written was like 8 pages long front and back of paper I think. And I think I used the margins as well. I think the girl liked me, perhaps BEFORE I sent the letters. Then after, she would have rightfully realized I'm a freak. That was before I understood what it meant to have a normal relationship haha
November 24, 200718 yr No, but I have recieved a few :smug: I have written love poems though.... Lovy duvy stuff annoys me

But I thought I would add a funny twist and make my first letter a Shakespearean love letter.:nice: :laugh4:
