I am just wondering what LP4 stands for. I am anxious for this new album to come out, and I am so skeptical on what it is going to sound like. I just am hoping that it is going to be better than X&Y. Not that X&Y wasnt good, I just want it to be BETTER. But yeah what in the hell is LP4 standing for? :thinking:

Extended play- to long to be a single, to short to be an album

As opposed to an EP,

which I stands for Extended Play. Which is pretty much a CD which has more tracks than a single, yet not enough to be an album (ie. The Blue Room Ep)

 

 

And yeh, LP - Long Play(ing). Which is an album. It all goes back to the days of vinyls and the like.

 

So yes. We all eagerly await Coldplay's fourth LP:D

Haha...I didn't even know what EP stood for until about 5 minutes before that post!

Lol, I remember like 5 years ago, I was looking through the Coldplay website and saw all this "EP" stuff. And I was like, "wat the?!".

So I looked it up in a dictionary lol.

And the dictionary said??

Extended Play.

Although, (I could be wrong), but I think some people sometimes call it "Extra Play".

 

...which is wrong.

I've never seen that...extended and extra both work fine! I thought it was expansion pack for a long time (I'm a Sims2 fan)

Yeh, I don't really get extended play. Cos its like, not bigger than an LP...therefore it can't be extended.

 

Ahh, unless. It's referring to a single, and therefore it's an Extension of a single ...type thing.
