Coldplay "sends kids to sleep"

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed what many non-Coldplay fans have often suspected – her husband’s music sends people to sleep.

But far from being a dig at Chris Martin, her revelation was a tribute to his hands-on parenting skills.

Gwyneth said the singer’s biggest fans are their children – daughter Apple, aged three, and son Moses, nearly two. And the Coldplay frontman can often be found singing as he puts them to bed.

“He sings lullabies all the time. He’ll sing funny joke songs. They love his music,” she said.

The couple both retreated from the showbiz spotlight after starting a family in 2004. Gwyneth, 35, cut back her filming schedule while 30-year-old Chris has spent the past two years recording Coldplay’s fourth album, due out in May.

The star revealed that she only felt ready to come out of “motherhood retirement” when Moses was a year old. She said: “I started to feel the fire again, and it had been a really long time since I had that feeling.

“I kind of understood and I was OK with it. There’s a part of me that’s an artist and that was OK. So I thought I would wait until my son was a year old, so he could have all my attention.

“I felt I would be there every day until he was one and then, if there was a movie for me to do and if people hadn’t totally forgotten about me, that would be great.”

Gwyneth was offered the role of Pepper Potts, the love interest in the forthcoming remake of the Marvel comic series Iron Man, opposite Robert Downey Jnr as the superhero. She joked: “They asked if I would come out and I asked: ‘Does that mean I get one night in a hotel with no crying children?’ They said yes, so I said: ‘OK. I’m there.’

“I started it right after Moses turned one. It was great for me to have that break with my son. I really needed it.”

But she had to work hard to get fit for the demanding role. “I was like post-baby nightmare,” she said. “I had an amazing trainer and I worked out twice a day. I felt like a complete nerd, but when it was time to shoot, I was ready to go.”

Fortunately her character’s most physically demanding scenes are at the end of the film. “Not any fights. though. I don’t even have a gun!” Paltrow, who won the best actress Oscar for Shakespeare in Love in 1999, also revealed that her husband “doesn’t like me to talk about him very much”.

She said: “I think that when it comes to our private lives, we’re private – he probably even more so than me and I have to respect that, which is great because I’m fundamentally the same.

“A relationship is a complicated thing and to invite the whole world into it on purpose seems crazy.

“I mean, people are going to talk about it and gossip about it and speculate about it anyway, but I don’t know. Jay-Z, the rapper, who I love, was being interviewed and was getting asked about Beyoncé and he said: ‘A relationship is hard enough without telling 80,000 people about it.’ I thought that was good.”

Gwyneth, who was left devastated by the death of her director father Bruce in 2002, said her mother, actress Blythe Danner, was her biggest role model growing up.

“I never felt like she wasn’t around. I can probably point to two memories in my childhood where I came home and I was like, ‘Oh, mommy’s working’ and it was a big deal. Mostly, I always knew that I could go to her.”

Gwyneth added: “I have the luxury of saying that I’ve done everything that I wanted to do career-wise. At a very young age I achieved a lot, so I have the freedom to shift my focus and dive into this domestic bliss. It might be a different story if I hadn’t achieved what I wanted to.”

Chris doesn't talk about their private lives very much, yeah its right and yeah he does that all the time.

But she speaks it all the time.I never saw her not talking about it speaking the truth.

And when compared to be called as biggest fans i think that basically we listen to the music that too lyrics written by Chris i think that they are so emotional,he writes it very soulfully and truly, which sometimes help world to fight with problems,or supports several moods in life, because everybody has their own things and life, and almost several times they help us.

So i think that i don't care much about the people who are non-coldplay fans.

because there is no need that everybody has to listen to everything.

But for the Coldplay fans who ever i think the main thing that drives them to listen Coldplay is the lyrics written by Chris and then the music.

So i think being a Coldplay fan is really the greatest thing.

So i am proud to be a Coldplay and Chris fan by myself.

once again i love Chris.

^^ Alleluia !! :P

hah... wanna see how chris sings lullabies... :)

I couldn't agree more :)

I bet he sings to them songs from LP4, That would be funny, thats how Chris finds out if there good or not.

I like the way Chris and Gwyn handle their private lives.

Why does everyone think a married couple has to be in each other hip pockets? I can't even imagine Chris in a suit, much less a tux, so he would look pretty out of place on the red carpet.
