yeah, another season, another thread.

although i know that i'm the only one who's literally obsessed with formula one, but there's some people slightly interested in it, too, right?

so.

who do you think's gonna win this year's championship?

my bet's on kimi räikkönen once again.

i thought he was gonna make it last year and see! i just knew it! :)

just never give up hoping.

and both ferraris as probably a bit stronger than the mclarens. especially because lewis hamilton is the team's number one now (after only one season!) and kovalainen is probably just keeping someone else's seat warm.

i don't think alonso will be too competitive. renault's not fast enough, but i'm curious to see how nelson piquet jr. will do! :)

and i'm also crossing fingers for sebastian vettel because his skills seem so promising and i want to see him drive for a top team in the future!

its hard to make predictions before the season actually started.

i'd say its between hamilton, raikonnen and possibly massa. i hope hamiltons gonna win this year.

i expect bmw sauber to do better than last year and win three races or so. i don't think they will be able to compete for the championship yet though. nor will renault.

^ ah fuck.

speaking of bmw sauber i might've included heidfeld in the poll ... .

well.

yeah he should be in the poll.

dont think his team is there yet though.

well.

I've added him for you ;)
I've added him for you ;)

oh thanks! :)

i voted raikkonen

New thread! And the race is this weekend, isn't it!

I think the traction control ban will shake things up a lot- too much to predict anything until the drivers really show which ones can work without it and which ones can't.

But I'm rooting for Hamilton. :nice: (Still like Kimi, though) Should be an interesting year.

No, you aren't. ;) In fact it's the only sport I've ever really truly literally been obsessed with. And I have been most of my life. But it helps that I can mooch info off my more obsessed Dad... keeps the obsession from reaching LotR and Doctor Who type proportions...

^ hehe! that's cute, though. my mum's obsessed with f1, too. it's so weird to have a mum who changes her shifts in order to watch formula one! :laugh3:

Go Lewis !!!!

Run that Alonso A hole off the track

:)

^ i loved it when it was on tv.

though they only showed it for a very short time because all that fun rivalry turned into real rivalry. :dozey:

i haven't seen that ad since last year's hungarian gp.

speaking of vids.

this might not be as funny as the fernando/lewis ad, but kimi's german is just so cute. and it is sorta funny, too.

what a shit race.

seriously, 7 drivers finishing?

well, i guess massa messed up other people's race, too.

whatever.

the ferraris will prove that they're vastly superior next week in malaysia. :P

though i was quite pleased to see two germans on the podium! :nice:

Hmmm..it's hard to say who's gonna win this year. I didn't think Kimi would win last year...and he did. So i think he's very likely to win it again this year.

But i think it would be awesome if Hamilton won it too..i mean, it's only his 2nd year in the F1!

Todays race was booboo.. I hope more drivers will make it to the finish next week

Yes I'm agree to Zeoir, it's such a difficult work tell who will win.

It's a pity Fernando Alonso has wasted last year and it's going to do the same with this sh*t of car he drives this year in renault.

Luck for him anyway!

wowow wa! Well done Finland

I haven't seen the actual race quite yet but i know the result already and woho! I'm proud of Kovalainen :nice:

better than last week's race anyway

boring race?

wtf?

just because so many drivers actually finished it?

i hate people bashing stuff without giving any reasons.

well, i liked the race! :D

kimi's back! ferrari's back. and massa's back to his old shitty driving. seriously, that man cannot drive. as much as i like him ferrari should replace him with vettel. :P but since his manager's jean todt's son that won't happen too soon. :dozey:

apart from that it was quite an entertaining race. i L.O.V.E.D. heidfeld's overtaking manoeuvre on coulthard AND alonso. reminded me of häkkinen's manoeuvre on schumacher years ago in spa. great. great. great.

lewis was a victim of bad luck this time. a bit shocking though that kovalainen was obviously both lighter and faster than him. but well, it's just the second race and it's their second season.

congrats to kubica, though. bmw's very competitive this year and they've got a promising car. perhaps they may even win a race if the ferraris and mclarens mess up.

I was utterly obsessed once upon a time. I went to the 1998 GP at Albert Park as an 11 year old and saw Mika and DC go 1-2 and was hooked until around 02 03 when Mika retired, Mclaren fell in a heap and the FIA became all technical with quali, engine rules for races and quali etc. etc. etc. etc. etc:angry: to counter Ferrari and Schumacher.

Anyway Iam a devout Mclaren Mercedes fan and was slightly wary and cynical at the start of last season and thus only followed the season from a distance (which is pretty easy to do in Australia - thats for another day lol) but now I belive F1 is a bit brighter now and with no this season we will see some true driver skill. get excited about heikki

Did no one else see hamiltons overtake on turn 2 (I think it was turn 2) on the first lap where he gained like 4 places at once?

^^Grace don't get me started on Hakkinen vs. Schumacher at Spa in 2000...the only time I have literally jumped out of my chair and cheered at 2am in the morning...heidfeld's move had nothing on that of Mika's, still quality driving though;):)

boring race?

did you see an interview with massa after he went out? he was like i haven't got a clue what happened.:stunned: there might have been something wrong with his car. it certainly did look weird to me.

^ well, sally, i do not think it was the car. of course a few technical things might have gone wrong, but really EVERY driver says he heard some "weird noises" rather than admitting it was his fault.

plus, there was nothing else announced such as a technical failure or that there was something wrong with the tires etc pp.

as much as i root for ferrari massa's just not the right guy. he's often not concentrated enough and it obivously bothers him that kimi's ferrari's number one.

cause he thought he'd take over the team as soon as michael's gone.

erm. yeah. be my green eyes (what is your name btw? :nice:) i expect a lot from heikki this season, too. he's so young and it's only his second season, but he's competitive enough to keep up with lewis (and i don't think they'd block each other during the qualifying. :D)

nah, that häkkinen-schumacher manoeuvre is definitely no nice memory. :( but i liked häkkinen as a rival. he was pretty fair. (too bad he got divorced... but that's only a side note.)
