Since the industry is trying to discorage piracy I don't get why they don't go all out on the presentation of the CD format? In CP's case cheap plastic, no lyrics in fact no nothing really.

 

Pretty much nothing except respect for CP to stop me stealing the CD on the internet. Most bands seem to have annoyingly unintresting or none existant inlays.

 

What do you guys think?

I can't see Coldplay putting lyrics in LP4, but stranger things have happened. After all the words in the album title I'd be surprised there's even any room left for anything else.

i dont want to imagine how the cover will looks like... it could be just another surprise!!!

 

they should put the lyrics in LP4 to avoid confusions... or just put the lyrics in their website... have they ever do this before? :thinking:

Doubt there will be lyrics, I imagine it'll be as minimalist as the rest of them.

i thought the X&Y thing was cool, with the whole baudot color code inside. but yes, they're not exactly known for their booklety things. it would be great if this one was especially cool, but i really only care about what's on that CD when it comes down to it. besides, would really cool artwork/lyrics etc really stop most people from illegally downloading?

I just hope that they keep the same format with the album cover, a plain background with a simple image in the center......I'd go for a purpley colour this time

I love the minalist booklets and art design. How else would we know that The Scientist is Dan? Oh and I believe that at one point lyrics were posted on their old X&Y era website.

I thought this said Will Coldplay put more effort into getting layed :P

^:lol: They have children, I think they already accomplished that.

A short essay about the experiences and decisions that led to the band's change in sound would be a nice touch... but I'd just like for it to be more than the usual pictures and standard information.

 

Maybe the band will release the CD in a cardboard foldout case instead of a standard jewel case. That seems like a more popular move lately. (Spoon, Nickelback, Iron and Wine, The Eagles, and others did it with their latest)

maybe it will be a bunch of pictures of paint and paintings and other paint related things, like the website screenshots
