bearcat1229
If you play Violet Hill on a stereo system you will note that the vocals seem very reverb-ish...like the sound you would get if you recorded them in a huge open cathedral.... I'm sure we all remember when the big buzz was that the guys headed to Spain to do some recording in a Spanish Cathedral....I wonder if Violet Hill vocals were one of them...? RunForTheHills
Its interesting, the reverb on the vocals reminds me very much of the reverb heard throughout Neon Bible by Arcade Fire. But I suppose it makes sense, seeing as Markus Dravs also happened to work with Arcade Fire on that album, and now we're told that "AF helped shaped our album". As for where it was recorded, we can only guess at this point. I like the cathedral idea though.

Interesting I hadn't heard that Arcade Fire was an influence on this album but if thats true I just got alittle more excited because I LOVE the style of Arcade Fire especially some of their organ prominent songs. RunForTheHills
^Yeah same here, actually I some of the lyrics in VH about the banks and cathedrals reminded me of the similar subject matter in the song 'Intervention' - I'll post the lyrics when i find them.
