I Hate It/ I Love It

i liked it on the first listen. the lyrics that kind of rhyme but not really, are starting to get on my nerves. it's different. some parts i really like. other's i'm unsure. i'm sort of iffy on this right now though. i like the tune. catchy.

lryics and vocals...hm. not so sure. sorry chris. i do adore the ending though :D maybe i just want some more classic coldplay?

i can't wait for the whole album to make a good choice. :D

and the fog became god....?

YES! Also my other point. The tune is catchy, the lyrics are pretty good to me but the vocals...eh. The ending was great, though it felt a little off key with the piano.

I really hope for some more classic Coldplay.

I can't either. It makes me anxious to hear everything else to see if it's an actually good album. I mean, there's bound to be a little classic CP in there some where.

HAHAHA, I know right. What does that mean exactly?

You're right, I've got that. I know, I can't just judge the entire album with one song but, well, I'm starting to get the hint from both VH and the 30 seconds of ASARY. I hear the voice, it's still the Chris that I know, so far. But I hear the guitar and totally forget about the bass and a little bit of the drums. It's like, that's all I hear is the guitar and the voice. Old tracks have everything equal on scale. I hear all the instruments, not one totally maxing out the rest.

it confirms that obviously nobody has payed attention to my comments about what i think that the album title means and so how they will structure everything on it....

there are two opposite things that one needs and justifies the other, two that form one, and one that makes two.

coldplay are 4 members, it can separate in 2.

on the album artwork, people had got to found some similarities:

chris and jonny surrounded lying on the ground while guy and will are holding arms and stand...

death and live, opposites and at the same the same.

i agree with you on this song is mainly chris voice and jonny's guitar, but i think that it has some meaning on the whole album, i mean i'm sure that although this track is like that, there will be others where the most important will be the bass and the drums.

and remember, i said: on the cover art there are chris and jonny, this track features them mainly, and it said, the cover is them laying on the ground surrounded, and this song, someone said that is about a soldier that leaves to a war, so it all makes sense if you think about it.

and again the song title, hill, a hill is some kind of spiritualized thing imo, you can go there when you feel down, when you had lose someone... you see, it makes sense.

Yeah, I get ya. I hope so, because I do want to hear some more bass, maybe a little less Politik.

It all makes sense to me now, thanks for explaining it. But it's interesting. I didn't know this album was mainly of Chris and Jonny, darn that sucks for Guy and Will, with them doing a wicked awesome job on everything. I wonder if they'll have an album of Guy and Will then... lol.

i didn't said that the album is mainly about chris and jony... i said that is a constant contrast of ideas, that one need the other.... see it can be divided on many ways, since coldplay are 4 members.. it would be could that they realise 4 singles.

first one features mainly: chris and jonny (on the cover them are laying on the ground).

the others would be cool if them are like this:

will and guy (on the cover both stand).

chris and guy (one laying the other stand on the left side of the cover)

will and jonny. (one lying the other stand on the right side of the cover)

yeah that would be cool.

viva la vida (is a possitive thing), death and all his friends (is a negative thing), but both are connected like it or not, and it makes us be how we are.

i said about the political-philosophical idea that i think they want to say with this album is:

is like when you follow and idea (viva: is a possitive thing as when you get something new, you feel full of energy), and then you realise some time later that it has changed for some reason (the leader, the circumstances, your view point about the topic...)...(negative thing, and is when you stop, so you leave your energy).

that's life, and that's a philosopical way of see it.

IMO Violet Hill is missing something. Ive played it numerous times since Tuesday and it still hasnt grown on me yet and I fear it won't. Say what you want about Speed of Sound and In My Place...but those songs caught my attention right away. I am getting the feeling I am going to be extremely disappointed with the new album. Especially after hearing a clip of A Spell A Rebel Yell. If they wanted to evolve they shouldve went in a more rock direction. Bands evolve all the time, but they dont change what made them who they are.

I really love VH but I really really hope they dont go back to classic Coldplay, that would be terrible. Of course people are going to hate Violet Hill because theyve listened to it so many times because its they only new material weve heared from them in 3 years, but Im sure when the album comes out and we will lay off VH a while we will realise how great the song really is.

i really love it ^^i listen to it everydayviolet hill is really a good song, the first time i listened to it was by phone lol thanks to my friend because monday tuesday and wednesday i hadn't internet connection, the sound wasn't very clear but i was enough excited by the style of the music and i succeded in understanding the global story of the song, but now it's okeyyy

I'm not sure yet what to think about VH. It's a nice song but not even close to some of the best Coldplay songs like AROBTTH or Yellow.. I like it but it bothers me the way Chris says "idiots" in the song :laugh3::laugh3:

I love it,its different but not so different that I dont recognize the band....I would much perfer Coldplay branching out and trying new things than copying and remaking their old hits-thats boring to me.Its a little heavier and edgier than their other songs so far and I think it scares some people
