Just got back from a free Superchunk/Arcade Fire Obama Rally. Right before Superchunk went on, Win Butler was just standing off to the side talking to fans. Nobody noticed him, really. I walked over there and talked to him, asked him who one of his most influential artists is ("Bob Dylan" was his answer), asked him where he stood on marijuana legalization (he's all for it, by the way), among other things. He also signed my cigarette pack and told me I should stop smoking.

A couple quick highlights... during Rebellion, Win walked out into the crowd with the microphone. I mean literally walked through the crowd, singing duets with people in the microphone and such. They went off stage and came back to play Wake Up, and at the end of Wake Up Win gave his guitar to some guy in the front row. Just gave it the fuck away.

 

So freaking epic.

that's so cool. i read about how they were doing those concerts for obama... i would love to go to one! did he talk at all during the concert about supporting him?

Yeah, he did, after every couple songs. It was absolutely incredible, almost like a pre-celebration to the end of George Bush.

 

Oh, and if you've ever heard of them, Superchunk opened for them. They're a legendary band around the North Carolina area.

Heroes cover? Thats awesome. IF you could find audio to that particular song I would be very interested.
