Am I going mad by listening to more and more folk music these days?

 

Both from the 60's and from the modern folk revival?

No sometimes it can be sorta catchy:D

I'm putting it down to over-exposure to guitar-based bands

I love folk music. I started out playing and listening to mostly folk music. I'm a fan of thoughtful lyrics,and there's no better place to find them, imo.

Folk music is ok. I only started listening to it when I did a report of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez and had to listen to a bunch of their albums. I don't think anyone can knock a good piece of folk music, especially since the lyrics can so powerful.

That's exactly how I started...having to write reports on Dylan and Leonard Cohen for high-school English class. They're the 2 artists that first started me writing music.:)

Me too.... When I was studying English @ uni we did a module on American Music and covered alot of Dylan...Before that I'd never even considered exploring this genre.

 

I also love Joni Mitchell and then, of course, there are the Wainwrights!

 

I like the the romanticised view on folk music and also rock-folk.... coffee houses.... free love.... berets...poetry Lol.
