yes i play guitar , i hear everthing yes there is guitar in violet hill which is good ; but violet hill is a bridge song . so violet hill is good but i wanted little more guitar rifs in it.

I also find it quite hilarious that you think this is the "end of Coldplay".

 

You know what? I don't like Brian Eno. There. I said it. He doesn't have really any of the same qualities as Coldplay, sound-wise. That's my opinion, so I am predisposed to not like this album or any of the more 'Eno' songs.

 

But I love this new stuff. I really, just....can't get enough of it. I love it.

 

You know what that is? That's a testament to the fact that Coldplay are back in a big way. Because, thats EXACTLY what they always did to me. I would hear a song, and regardless of what I thought in the beginning, I listen over and over and over (and over) and fall in love.

 

Coldplay, that FEELING that Coldplay still brings on with their music, is still VERY VERY much there, and I am a citing my own experience as proof (even though I know, again, that this is opinion).

 

More proof? Listen to Chris sing Viva La Vida. It's like....he KNOWS...EXACTLY what he is doing.

well violet hill is still differnt from the rest of the album like i said a song betwee X&Y & vida la vida.

 

maybe i'm to battlehardened with parachutes & arobtth after 8years listening to them its hard to hear them so playing so odd.

i've now listened to couple of their new songs , and i must say? where is the guitar? seems the purity of guitars and music have been wasted by modern FX and bad producers .

 

I always loved parachutes and AROBTTH and all the b-sides from that period . Coldplay at their best

 

and their own sound , now with the 2 last albums things have been changed dunt know what but they dont have te magic as before alot of new bands sound better . Just coldplay is so famous there getting al the attention.

Hey Sam. After reading your post I have to say everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

 

Having said that, I completely disagree with you. For me Parachutes was just ok. AROBTTH was better. However X&Y is by far the BEST Coldplay album. X & Y is perfect in every way --- musically and lyrically.

 

With every new album Coldplay has gotten better. If the song Viva La Vida is any indication of what their fourth album will be like, then I am absolutely certain that this is not the end of Coldplay. The song is just MAGICAL!

 

Coldplay will be around for a very long time!!!! :cool:

Just because YOU aren't pleased with something Coldplay does, doesn't mean a majority of others aren't either.

 

This is definitely not the end of Coldplay, since many people I know that never were fond of Coldplay before love them now. You gain some fans, you lose some. Meh. It's just a fact.
