i've now listened to couple of their new songs , and i must say? where is the guitar? seems the purity of guitars and music have been wasted by modern FX and bad producers .

I always loved parachutes and AROBTTH and all the b-sides from that period . Coldplay at their best

and their own sound , now with the 2 last albums things have been changed dunt know what but they dont have te magic as before alot of new bands sound better . Just coldplay is so famous there getting al the attention.

I "m not a coldplay hater , hell i spent 8y with their music but i'm dissapointed

that you're dissapointed doesn't mean that it's the end of the band...

I'm sure some people will absolutely love the new album.. and some people won't.. but that's natural so I don't see any problem in it...

violet hill have guitars and viva la vida dont. but have a guitar is not necessarly if they are really musicians its good that they play another instruments also and maybe the think youre expecting is in the album, 42 maybe.

who cares VLV and VIOLET HILL are marvelous.

Oh no! The ending of Coldplay! You are such a wise and learned person to be able to make that decision after THREE SONGS. Seriously, man, take your doom and gloom elsewhere or at least hold out until you have heard the album all the way through, unless you're psychic you have no idea what it could contain and are not qualified to be making such statements, I'm sorry!

life is all about change. if you don't change, how do you progress?

well, you can change in different directions. you can progress, but also you can regress.

Before a progress there is regress, and vice verca.

so i hope x&y was their little regress before a huge progress in vlvodahf.

kinda like the transition between Parachutes and AROBTTH. :)

The confusing part about some of these songs like viva la vida is it doesn't seem like it will translate well into the live show, even though coldplay told us that the music was suppost be more oriented towards the live show than X&Y. I expect the live performance of viva la vida will be very different from the album version.

You not liking their new stuff doesn't mean it's the end of the band :P

I think the new stuff is actually the making of the band. Soooooo many people have bemoaned the change, but what did you expect? They can't keep making the same old music over and over again, that's not what great artists do.

If you want old Coldplay, listen to their old CD's and if you're bored of them then listen to the hundreds of Coldplay style bands out there.

I love the new material, hearing VLV today has only affirmed this, it's fantastic, I love the new songs and can't wait for the new album :D
