I think you should. seeing that Viva la vida and violet hill are amazing, It would be an awesome album. thats my opinion though.;)

Well im going to get it eventually, but i don't know WHEN.

I can either a) pre-order and not have to worry about running out to the store June 16 or b) run out to the store June 16.

And I kind of don't want to pay for something i can't listen to for another month. :confused:

get it off of amazon. they have it on there and usually it comes to your house in a few days.

Personally, I'm not going to, and I'll buy it ASAP when they release it in stores - I'm worried that I'll preorder it, then realize that they have a deluxe edition or something.

I know its not too important, but if you buy it on iTunes you wont get the jewel case and artwork and everything. That might not seem like a big deal now, but you may end up wanting the actual CDs to all the albums. Thats why Im waiting and getting it at the store. Plus, I dont want Viva La Vida now, Ill just over-listen and get bored of it. I want as many fresh songs with the album as possible.

i say run out to the store and get it on june 17. it's more fun that way, and personally, i like having the physical CD. but if you can't get out that day, i say preorder on itunes, because as far as i know, you can download your preordered album at the stroke of midnight, which is SO much better than waiting until the stores open and you have a moment to go get it. i wouldnt preorder on amazon or any other way that it'll be mailed to you, because it won't get to you as quickly as it would if you just downloaded it or even went out to get it yourself. i'd be tearing out my hair waiting for the UPS man, quite literally.

 

i know it feels weird paying for something you can't have yet, but if you really want it as fast as possible, i say PREORDER!

i walked into FYE on the day it came out, and there were two copies of X&Y left on the shelf. i bought them both.

 

however, my area is FILLED with CD stores, so i doubt that everywhere was sold out. my mall itself had two FYE's and a strawberries at the time, so i figure that there were more copies in the building. and i didn't get the impression that i just bought the last two copies in the store, either...i think they probably restocked the shelves soon after i left.

 

i say get out as early as you can, like around 10 AM, and don't give up if one place is out. worse comes to worse, you come home and download it.

Hmmm, interesting. It'll have to be an impressive offer to compete with the likes of Tesco - I remember for x&y they priced it at 6.99 or something ridiculously cheap - I went on a mission that morning at 7am to buy it, probably costing just as much extra in petrol.

 

The frustrating part was that my old car only had a tape player and had to drive all the way home before I could hear any of it!

It was mentioned in some business papers this morning.

 

For X&Y, all I can remember was Tesco was doing a "buy X&Y and get £5 off another cd/dvd/game chart purchase". But the best deals are the loss-makers, where the shops are hoping you will buy something else.

Im gonna wait for the physical copy. I remember becoming a big coldplay fan shortly before X&Y came out and getting my copy of X&Y, running back home and playing it :D most amazing thing ever, im gonna do that with Viva La Vida, no doubt :P

I wasn't a fan when X&Y came out - I ordered it off CD WOW for about £6 in November 2005 :P This time I'm looking forwar to going into a shop and buying it :D Then for the buses to be delayed by a few hours, and the trains to all break down. That better hadn't happen.

Yeah, 12th June is a Thursday.

It's a battle between pre-ordering it, so you know it's coming that day or risking the high street to see which shop is doing the best deal.

I'd pre-order if I was you, but brazilians can't use iTunes and there is no store in my city pre-selling it. DAMN! :cry:

oh... and i'm spending how ever much any store is selling it for - I'M GETTING THAT CD. haha

I only said no because I don't have a credit card, so I don't have a choice.

 

And I still love going into the music store and buying it on the release date.

I will go to the shop for the physical CD :)
