Tour Worth Paying For?

Oh Coldplay. You have written some of the most beautiful songs in decades, your live show is beyond energetic, and you say your songs are meant to be sung to the rafters. I love this band, but to be completely honest (judging their twisted logic tour), going to your concerts aren't worth the money I'm paying.

Hear me out here. My opinion is that if I'm paying 50+ dollars to see Coldplay perform, they should play for more than an hour and a half. I think it's very unfair to us, the fans. Guys like the Foo Fighters, U2, and even 65 year old Paul McCartney charge around the same prices for tickets, but the difference is they'll play for 2 and a half hours. Now THAT's a show! I would love for Coldplay to do that. You have four albums out now, why not play some obscure songs as well as the hits, and make the setlist a reasonable one huh? The economy sucks, gas prices are high, and I sure as hell am not paying a load of money to see Coldplay for only an hour and a half. I just think that's unfair, don't you?

sometimes i think that bands should do their concerts for free ALWAYS...

ask yourself how much money have you spent yearly on your fave band buying the album, the singles, merchandising (t-shirts, posters...), supporting them when they are strongly critizised for no reason by critics, having to deal with your friends making jokes about how much you like that band... and tell me that if is worthy to pay the same amount you had spent yearly on them (per average) just to see them one night, and more taking into account if is true that they play less than 2 hours... and more if they will only play their hits, i'm liking more the less known songs by the bands i like now,... so i think the concert is not that worthy...

we are not rich people, as we could see on a recent thread here, the average of us are students, young people yet trying to get a proper job. :\ we can't afford paying that huge amount of money for a night...

i wonder if the cost is the same everywhere on that tour but apparently the only sites where i've found something about the tickets says that it will cost more than 120 euros to see them in Spain, when last tour it cost only 33 euros. :\

how is that? that is very very sad.

Well I think concerts aren't free so actual FANS of the band can pay their hard earned money instead of the tickets just being given away to someone who probably would have never bought the tickets in the first place. I worked hard to pay for my Coldplay tickets and I don't want my spot just being given away randomly... I dunno, all of your reasons make sense. But I don't think it will keep me from my favorite band :nice:

Well, considering that you see them once in two or three years, it's a price you can afford by saving. But yes, it would be cool to extend the show to two hours at least, I agree on that. The tickets here will be costing from 44 to 60 euros.

ok so why the only two sites that i found that had coldplay spain concerts, the tickets seem to be so expensive :(...

i hope them will be cheaper.. 50 euros- 60 as maximum then i'll go, but 150

well eFlat you are right, about that, considering that i'll see them once each 2-3 years... but the difference between your situation and mine is that as i've said i'm a student and i don't work so..

well don't mind me too much i'm a bit grumpy today.
