I was listening to the song on headphones yesterday morning, and at 1:45 there's a voice in the right channel. I can't tell what it says, but its great. I always jump a bit and think someone's trying to get my attention when I've got headphones on *grin*

 

Has anyone else noticed that? In fact, there's quite a bit of external noise going on in this album. I really love that. It's the same with Parachutes/AROBTTH.. hearing people talking in the back, or the click of keys on the organ/keyboard. That's the stuff that makes it come to life in my opinion. No matter how overly produced it is, when you hear things like that, its a nice reminder that you're not listening to robots making music.

Yeah, it scares me every time as well, I turn around!

I told my parents about this yesterday... to me it sounds like my Dad shouting 'Dan!' and I always check to see if it was him! Hahaha. I gave them both a listen and they thought it was quite spooky.

LOL, I thought I was the only one :)

..and still it gets me everytime for a sec, then I tell myself "It's not real, it's not real" :D

Yeah you're right!! the other day i was walking down the street listening to music with my earphones the song man-sized wreath by R.E.M. (great song) when i heard a voice at first it scared me because it was at night and i was alone!! haha but then i realized it was part of the song but it really scared me!! :)

actually yes I heared those voices they are makes you feel that the album alive!!!!!

exactly my point (: i love those little extra noises.

they're not so prevalent on X&Y but Parachutes, AROBTTH and Viva all have little studio noises.

 

Gives them personality me thinks :nice:

'cemetries of london', you know with the knocking at the beginning? I swear that someone is knocking at my door whenever I hear it, yet I know its the song and not the door, I always look!!!

First time ever listening through the album I was wearing headphones alone downstairs in my house at like 11 PM. Then "42" came on and I heard that voice. I thought it was my brother calling my name; it sounded like my brother's voice saying "Mike!" I jumped a little and had to go back to make sure that was part of the song and that my brother wasn't actually calling me. :)

Its funny how everyone hears their own name in 42 :P
