MSN Messenger 6.1 is on the verge of being released! It entered beta today. You can try the beta version if you want:

-OR-

The second link is a RAR file. Sorta like a zip file, but you'll need WinRAR to extract it. You can get that at http://www.rarlab.com/

Remember these are BETA so they might not work. I've tried it, there are some cool improvements over 6.0, so give it a try!

Ok people. MSN Messenger 6.1 was officially released on October 23rd, so if you were worried about using the beta version, you don't have to worry anymore because MSN 6.1 isn't beta anymore! You can get the finished version at http://messenger.msn.com/

I like it and use it all the time, sure as hell beats that AOL Instant Messenger bullshit.

what is the difference between the 6.0 and the 6.1 version?

well at least the 0 and the one...

the 6.0 has already the web cam capability

may be there is new smileys

No there's not new smilies, it's still the same ones. Oh I know one difference....in 6.1 you can take off the top bar of your chat window and change the color of different stuff. :smug:

ah thanx for the info

No there's not new smilies' date=' it's still the same ones. Oh I know one difference....in 6.1 you can take off the top bar of your chat window and change the color of different stuff. :smug:[/quote']

that's the only thing i noticed that was different

mine is currently hot pink!

How do you do that?

I got an old version of MSN on my pc and the new version. :stunned: I know that's not good, but the old one isn't even listed in the software thingy. lol Both work. o.o

i got on msn after a long time and when i did, it told me that i had to have an upgraded version of the stuff before i could log in. so i d/l the new version, but the computer would not recognize it. by that time, i wasted 45 minutes doing nothing 'cuz of the slow dialup speed!

now i too have two MSNs, but only the newer one works, AFAIK

afaik?

is this a new internet term one guy started and is trying to get going?

hhahaha

yeah yoru dial up eats a dick

i hate people like you on the internet

i hate people like you on the internet

hate is a strong, and very insedious feeling! better beware of what/whom you hate! lol

and I know I need to invest in technology...but I'm at loss using older tech, not you, so what's your reason to hate me?! I don't get it.
