He uses his thumb on the E-string throughout the song, but in the outro he also plays some regular bar chords (marked with a star (*)). I'm not 100% sure about the outro, since the camera isn't filming his guitar all the time. There are some rapid chord changes there - maybe someone can correct me? The entire song is bar chords ( except Chris uses the thumb technique for that) I guess he plays in standard tuning.
