mx guitar tab
Your amp looks nice, and it does have the effects used in Mylo Xyloto. So go on and play it like Jonny does! I'm just a hobby player with little knowledge of pedals (in fact I only have a switch pedal to change between clean and distortion :P), but from what I've read, pedals can give you more tweaking options and perhaps better quality effects. And you'll be able to change the effects with your feet instead of your hands, which can be quite handy (footy :smug:) mid-song. Here's a thread I found where more experienced players discuss pedal vs amp distortion: http://www.seymourduncan.com/forum/showthread.php?145483-Pedals-vs-Amp-Distortion-Put-To-The-Test

Let ring: Try to let the notes ring out as long as possible, i.e. don't mute the strings. Chorus and reverb are effects that many amps have (you can also get chorus and reverb pedals). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chorus_effect http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverberation What amp do you have? On my Roland Cube 30 there are two knobs for these settings, see for instance http://cachepe.zzounds.com/media/quality,85/CUBE-30Top-6b730bc1ae0f94cd9b055792f9e12327.jpg

Help just around the corner (my cover)
I don't say this often, but that was an amazing cover! You have a great voice, and you handle the guitar like a boss! The improv fits nicely too. 10/10.

Coldplay - Lukas (Guitar Chords needed!)
kaka1991 is right about the verse chords, except they were written "upside down" in the tab :). The chorus is a bit trickier, but I'll come with a suggestion below. Playing it Chris Martin style with the thumb on the low E string is recommended. So the chords are B C#m A G#m E F# e|----0----0----0----0----0----0 B|----0----0----0----0----0----0 G|----8----9----6----4----1----3 D|----9---11----7----6----2----4 A|----9---11----7----6----2----4 E|----7----9----5----4----0----2 Intro/Verse: B C#m A A A C#m B B Chorus/Outro: G#m A E F# Bridge: F# F# B E

Yo, dudette. Etter bildet/teksten å dømme virker du å være i god form! Mange aktive nordmenn her, eller? Er ikke veldig aktiv selv, men leser mer enn jeg skriver ...

Warning sign
I'm 99 % sure the tuning in the tab book is EADEAe. But you should probably stick to the version you know. I don't know much about pianos, so I can't help you there. I guess one of you have to do some adjustments. If you don't find a solution, maybe you could try creating your own version of the song, without caring about how Coldplay plays it?

Warning sign
First of all, tuning a half step down is equivalent of moving the capo down a fret. So standard tuning + capo 2 will sound the same as tuning a half step down + capo 3. I guess you have access to a good tuner, sou you're sure the guitar's in tune. Could there be intonation problems with your guitar? If only the chords high up the neck sound off, it might be. The highest rated tabs on Ultimate-Guitar (see post above), and the live videos of Coldplay, indicate that it should be played like you already do. Do they differ from what you've learnt? I don't have access to a guitar at the moment, so I can't check how the tabs sound. I don't recommend this, but as a last resort you could try the tab book version (not my upload): http://www.4shared.com/dir/8921731/93e474f9/Coldplay_Sheet_Music.html It states that the tuning is EADEAe. Normally, professional musicians, and not the band itself, make the tab book, so you can't always depend on them. Anyway, here's how part of it looks/sounds (from a video I uploaded a year ago): The question is if it's worth learning how to play the song in a new (and maybe more complicated) way ...

Warning sign
According to some comments on Ultimate-Guitar.com, Chris used a capo on the 3rd fret in the studio, but he uses a capo on the 2nd fret live (maybe to lessen the strain on his voice). So, have you tried moving the capo? http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/c/coldplay/warning_sign_tab.htm#comments http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/c/coldplay/warning_sign_ver2_crd.htm#comments

Music You've Just "Discovered"
Thanks for all the recommendations in this thread! There are so many talented musicians out there. Here's an artist I just discovered; EstherOrkester. Below is a nice, relaxing tune to listen to after a long day at work (and a pretty cool video too): [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2eke5ERKKI]YouTube - EstherOrkester - Skip a beat[/ame] More songs on http://www.estherorkester.com/

The Scientist electric guitar tabs
Here's a quick clip I just made. Not perfect, but it should give you the idea: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD1n7WqhTbw]YouTube- The Scientist outro explained[/ame] (I finally got to try my new camera + editing, so the pleasure is on my side. :)) The tab above was originally uploaded by me, though I got it from a tab book ... You could also check out this old clip where the outro is played with 3 guitars: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-vuBMsQrzI]YouTube- The Scientist outro with 3 guitars[/ame]

Doodz, I need a good file converter for Windows Movie Maker
Are you talking about WLMM? After I got a new camera that records movies in .mov-format, I had to look for an alternative to WMM. And WLMM works for me. I haven't tried .qt-files, but it is supported according to the link. Looks like you need Windows Vista or newer, though.

Doodz, I need a good file converter for Windows Movie Maker
Looks like your problem was solved, but this might be helpful for others; If you want to be able to edit .mov/.qt-files in Windows, you can check out Windows Live Movie Maker (not the same as the standard Windows Movie Maker). You can see the supported file types here.
