Listen2Coldplay
I haven't seen any postings about this. I bought the album today. Put it in my computer to listen to it, and for the most part, have not had any problems. However, I noticed on two songs--"Violet Hill" and "Death and All His Friends", the CD either stopped playing completely and Winamp (the program I'm using to play it) or would pause, start again, then pause, and this happens intermittently. It is extremely annoying and very non-fluid to say the least. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my individual CD or what. I cleaned it with my skin and breath (okay that sounds weird) but I exhaled on it for moisture and wiped it with my arm. I can try cleaning it with a disc cleaner, but I have NEVER had a problem like this before with a NEW disc. There doesn't seem to be any physical sign of dirt or damage, either. Any help would be appreciated. I know it's not THAT expensive and I could always buy a new album, but I thought perhaps something on the album makes it conflict with playing it on a computer, just maybe. Littlewhiteshadows
Nope, no problem as far as I'm concerned, you ought to take the CD back and get it swapped if it doesn't work on other players ie. A CD player etc...if it doesn't it's a disc fault and you shouldn't have to buy a new one as long as you have a receipt.
Cold_Huntress
I had trouble playing it on itunes, for some reason. So I had to play it on Windows media. Though it sounds like your CD might be scratched or something. :(
Texasluvsjonny
Mine won't play on my computer at all. Plays fine in my car, but it doesn't even show I have a disc in the tray when I put it in my computer.

Mine stopped during Yes
Laura42
Something worse has just happened to me... I bought the album today and I put it on my PC to listen to it for the very first time and… MY VLVODAAHF CD HAS BROKE MY CD/DVD RW UNIT!!!!. :veryangry2: :veryangry2: :veryangry2: :veryangry2: I put it and started playing in Windows Media with no problems, but as I prefer Winamp I opened the tray and closed again to choose Winamp instead… but it couldn’t read it correctly and when I tried to open the tray again, it didn’t… I have to turn off my PC and use the famous “clip in the little hole” trick to get my CD back… And I turned on my computer again but the tray didn’t close… when I push the button the led starts to blink but nothing else happens. I know this was probably a coincidence and my unit was going to broke anyway, because I use this unit almost everyday for burning DVDs (I download and burn a lot of TV series and movies to watch it on my DVD player) so probably this was a matter of time, but is really weird that when I put this CD this thing happened… and I almost never play music CDs on my computer I always listen to mp3, so If I put a music CD is only for ripping it. Listen2Coldplay
There must be some kind of copy protection or something they put on the discs. Maybe not though. I believe they put it on X&Y that caused some problems with certain players (I don't remember the exact problems or circumstances). I'm not really sure what the percentage of people are on here that listen to the Viva La Vida CD on their computer, but a poll probably wouldn't hurt to figure out what percentage who DO are have experienced any kind of out of the ordinary problems when trying to listen to it. I am not a media guru or the like but there may be a reason why this is happening.
Cobalt
Rip the album first! I ripped it right away because I love my little cube PC too much. (Seriously, my CPU is a small cube. Too awesome to risk.)

the hitcher
i had trouble ripping the album to my windows media player. it took three attempts! it ripped the album but windows media player was listing the album as 'unknown artist' and all the tracks weren't named. when i went to change the names the album would disappear off my computer. third attempt it worked i still had to name all the tracks tho. :laugh3:
