Weird enough that some poor soul had to design a contraption to keep them suspended higher up on the chest. ;)

 

I have no problem with dating someone younger or older than me! As long as they're mature and we have the same interests. Just so they're not too much older (like 5 years or more) then that's just odd.

two years is like nothing...that should be hardly any difference

This is an interesting point, too. I think it's part of the reason young children have to have toys/candy/whatever NOW, not an hour from now. Because an hour (or a day or a year) is going to be a greater percentage of their lives than it would be for someone who's older.

 

So older people, having lived longer, view segments of time in a more patient way because they are a smaller % of their lives.

Maybe its not an age thing. A lot of guys (myself included) dont like to make sex jokes around women (especially women we like;)) cuz it feels a little weird.

There was a guy in Georgia who got put in jail for something like 20 years for receiving oral sex from a girl who was just two years younger than him (I think their ages at that time were 18 and 16).

 

The Supreme Court had to call the punishment cruel and unusual. So maybe he's just being understandably cautious.

Yeah, i understand why he's cautious, it just gets frustrating sometimes.

That is cruel and unusual! :confused: The age of consent is a tricky subject.

18 and 16 isn't that bad. 18 and 13/14 is bad, it should be obvious what the older person wants.

If your 17 you should be allowed to do what you want. Or you could just abstain until you turn 18. what a great 18th birthday that would be then huh?:wink3:

And it varies from state to state.

It's mostly 18 though. I think the problem is knowing at what age you are mature enough to make your own decisions.

exactly. The US has it all backwards.

I think laws are based on levels of maturity. By 16, you should know how to handle yourself on the road. By 21, you're supposed to know how to drink responsibly. But the problem is that not everyone these ages are on the same maturity levels.

Totally agree. 16 or 17 is too young to be driving full time I think. Over here they're talking about making the driving test harder (and it's already pretty tough) to cut down on the amount of young people being involved in car crashes. When it's obvious the solution would be to raise the age you can legally drive a car.

 

I think it's far more dangerous for an immature young person to be allowed on the roads than it is for them to be drinking. If they drink too much, throw up etc, no big deal, no-one gets hurt, they learn a lesson.
