Loki0012
This is unofficial yet but coldplayzone.com suggests that the first album in music history that has ever reached Gold certification in USA just with paid digital downloads (514.000) is VIva la vida this is crazy!! Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, although no more the top-selling album in the world on a weekly basis (it's at No.3 in the special chart of Mediatraffic), is still the top-selling album of 2008 with 4.898.400 copies (source: WorldWideAlbums). Sales haven't dropped at all in US (1.619.325) and Japan (230.022 sold copies so far). (It beat the sales of X&y in Japan (x&Y 100.000 copies sold) in only 3months and its till adding up!) We are expecting Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends to beat X&Y, since the number of sold copies (including CD, digital and multimedia) is over 5 million COLOR="White"]and a half so far. [/color] So who wants to bet? Will it beat X&Y despite the fact that the music industry is doing bad nowadays?:laugh3:
42rock89
I think it will IF Lost and Lovers in Japan are singles. I think the 4th single (Hardest part was radio only in UK) will help with sales a lot as X&Y didnt really have a proper one.
A RUSH OF VIDA
ya it could sell more if those are the singles...i think if X&Y would have had better singles than the hardest part it would have sold more....their were alot better songs for singles like WHAT IF,S.I.T.S. .......but who knows

Death Hill
I don't think so,realistically, but I don't think X&Y rules. :dozey:
lordbloodraven
Hmmm...looking at the figures, as long it continues to sell well, I think it may surpass X&Y. Or at least come very close.

nkydickson
As long as it "keeps on the road it's on" I think it will -cheesy but I couldn't help it !
JPB
Hmm. Who can tell? It DEFINITELY needs two more singles and Lost! and Lovers In Japan are near dead certs due to the fact that they, along with VH and VLV, were mentioned as being "featured on the album" on that sticker they had attached to the front of the CD. Lost! will be out next week and LIJ sometime mid/late November. Its such a lovely pop song that its perfect for dreary winter drives home. Course the summer in the UK and Ireland hasn't been much different. Sadly. Back on point, VLVODAAHF probably will outsell X&Y in the long run, and the EP this Christmas will probably help. Remember! And good luck to us all. :)
