May 25, 200620 yr Oh yeah, I forgot you play the saxophone too, that's cool. How's your funky jazz playing coming along? ;p
May 25, 200620 yr Hehe...oh well I practised today...."in the mood"....wasn't that bad but could be better...I wish i was in a funk band...
May 25, 200620 yr Well, keep practising and keep the faith, and who knows what may happen! I'd like to play hammond organ in a blues/rhythm & blues band one day, myself.. ;p
May 25, 200620 yr Yeah...hammond organ that's a cool instrument... ah...I saw this funk band at the open day in univesity some months ago...they were damn cool.... oh btw...maybe you can help me.... they played this song....the text was something with "house" and in some parts the guy sang in a very high voice...and they sang the house in a strange way...like sucking something... any idea?
May 25, 200620 yr Hmm...no idea, sorry. I'll think about it some more later, but right now I must go eat supper. Catch you later Julia. =)
May 25, 200620 yr Ok, I'm back. Had to eat quickly 'cause I was missing the show that's on Radio 2 right now.
May 25, 200620 yr Yeah, during the past 6 months or so I've discovered some really great radio shows via the BBC website. They have this awesome radio player which stores shows for a week so you can listen to 'em again, or for the first time if you don't live in the right region (two of the shows I listen to are played in Leeds and Wales respectively). The one I'm listening to (as I type this) is presented by Paul Jones, the ex-singer of '60s group Manfred Mann. His show consists of the best rhythm & blues, old and new. =) http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/jones
May 25, 200620 yr Ah this is cool...I'll keep an eye on it... the problem is that I can't be sitting here and enjoy some music because it is not my Computer....if I ahd my own Computer I could do what I want to...and I would be in my room...I'm always disturbed here...hehe
May 25, 200620 yr haha, that's a shame. These are the other shows I listen to: http://www.bbc.co.uk/leeds/content/articles/2004/09/08/music_feature_down_in_the_grooves_feature.shtml ('50s, '60s & '70s music. Lots of hammond grooves, psychedelia and just generally really funky stuff) http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/radiowales/trueblues (old & new blues music. some obscure stuff too) http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/sounds60s/ (Sounds of the Sixties. Self-explanatory. ;p )
May 25, 200620 yr Thanks for these links....I definitely have to check them out....the first sounds good....funky and psychedelic stuff...that's what I like... And erm....I'll go now....see you goodbye!:-)
May 25, 200620 yr Oh, and this is the latest one I've discovered: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/quatro/ (Rockin' With Suzie Q[uatro]. American rhythm & blues, rock 'n' roll and some pop. Mainly '50s and early '60s.) See ya Julia. =)
May 25, 200620 yr Ah 50s are not my style... whaaa....I'm back...yeah.....because I went to TV and zapped and there was only crap....today sucked so much...
May 25, 200620 yr Yeah...hammond organ that's a cool instrument... ah...I saw this funk band at the open day in univesity some months ago...they were damn cool.... oh btw...maybe you can help me.... they played this song....the text was something with "house" and in some parts the guy sang in a very high voice...and they sang the house in a strange way...like sucking something... any idea? Julia - I made some suggestions in that thread you started. Check it out.
May 25, 200620 yr Yeah I saw it....but I don't know how to check it out... Search for them in Limewire or something.
