how do u know if u have a good song? Besides asking someone else's opinion

A few ways:

 

Does it flow well?

Does it make sense?

Does it bring out the meaning you want it to?

Does anything sound out of place? Do the instruments match the lyrics?

Do you like it?

 

People have come up with some weird criteria's for judging how good a song is. But from the artist's perspective, it really comes down to how satisfied you are with your creation.

 

So if you like it, it's worth keeping. Simple as that IMO.
