What do you think about the piano part at the beginning??!!

Coldplayers, what do you think about the piano part at the beginning of Rainy Day?

For me, I thought about it and maybe it's a part of a new unreleased song!!

What do u say?

Perhaps it's the end of an unreleased track, yes, as the album was always going to be seamless (even if the EP is not as it contains leftovers)

I thought it was just a (completely hilarious) anti-intro meant to make the listener go "What just happened?" It briefly sounds like the song is going to be a piano ballad, and then the unexpected arrangement steps in.

I totally agree with that ^^

This song really seems to be the band 'playground'. You can feel how much they had fun to make something like this! They really loosen up with this track ^^ I hope they continue in that direction when they'll be free from EMI. No pressure, just fun!

I had the same thought, it's great though. Makes the intro more exciting :D.

the piano intro sounds good somehow.

I heard on one of their many track-by-track analyses post-Viva La Vida release that the beginning of Death and All His Friends (the quiet part) was supposed to be the intro to Rainy Day, but since the two were in the same key, they spliced Rainy Day's intro to DAAHF. That could be the remnants.

In a deep analysis of the song, I would say that the beginning kind of symbolizes how something quiet and somewhat pleasant can be interrupted by the magnificent glory of a rainy day.

wow. never thought of it that way.

The piano intro was the original intro of Death And All His Friends and a part of an unreleased song called 'School', Chris revealed...

it reminds me of nintendo games :cheesy:

I've been wondering about that too.I like the beginning.

Nintendo game :D so true. It's like Tetris

Me too. They should use it in a song. That would be fun! ;)
