Chavi
The other day I was in the bus and I saw that little girl walking down the street with her school bag on the back. I'm sure she wasn't more than 10 years old. The bus stopped because the light was red, so I had time to look through the window. Suddenly she stopped walking and took her wallet off her pocket. There was a beggar sitted on the floor with a sign asking for food and money. And the little girl just gave her money and then kept on walking. I was so impressed and touched. And also felt kinda guilty. I mean she was a little girl, and how kind and generous that was of her. Although, it's not like she saved the world. but man, it got me thinking ! and now, I just wonder. When was the last time you did something good ? gave to charity ? donate some of your blood ? hold the door for someone behind ? gave up your seat in the bus to someone else ? said someone you care about/your friends/relatives that you like them ? texted someone you havent seen in a long time just to check if they're okay ? these small things that if you just take the time to do them will make your day slightly better. just think about it. anyway, I just felt like putting this out. First of all i'd like to say that be like that is not something people has to do just now that we are so close to xmas... it should be a thing we do each day during the whole year, then the world would be a better place. When was the last time you did something good ? gave to charity ? we've done that several times. donate some of your blood ? i've been said by a doctor that surely i'll can't do it as my veins are small  so i hadn't had tried that although i'd like to. hold the door for someone behind ? i do it all the time even to people who never does that for me. gave up your seat in the bus to someone else ? when i get to a place where i know there are few seats i don't use to sit at all. said someone you care about/your friends/relatives that you like them ? i do say that as often as i can. texted someone you havent seen in a long time just to check if they're okay ? i do it too, and some times they take long to answer :dozey: but they do answer. good spirit thread. :sunny:
MrsSeverusSnape
Once i was walking with some friends across Lisboa, and there was an old man asking for some food, not money, and that really touched me. So i went to MacDonalds and bought him a menu. He was SO happy, he started crying! I always give some cents to beggars, but we never know what will they do to it... =/
Chavi
Agreed, Ari ! it is not about Christmas or a specific time of year. But if Christmas inspires people to be nicer, then it's a good thing. Oh Chavi... I truly need to be a better person :( Only you Daniel can make it happen ;)

ricardo
donate some of your blood ? said someone you care about/your friends/relatives that you like them ? texted someone you havent seen in a long time just to check if they're okay ? ok you got me there, I think it's cheesy to say very often someone that you love him/her. And well, that thing about texted someone to see if they are ok it's not my uh style, I do it sometimes, but not very often, I mean it's not normal, besides I'm always there when they need me. However I need to considerate that of donating blood..... And about charity, I never give money to young adults or adolescent, whoever wants to go ahead and be succesful is going to get it if he truly tries
Carlaatje
awww cute story... we should all be giving more often... just this saterday we went shopping, and there was beggar at the parking garage asking people for money or food. we just got in ine to pay for our ticket, and nobody gave the man anything so I paid for the ticket with a note and gave him all the change that came out. and just yesterday I send my collegue a postcard just thanking her for always being so nice and listening to my whining. I never do that and thought it would be a nice gesture.
Chavi
I always give some cents to beggars, but we never know what will they do to it... =/ true. Some will just spend the money on alcohol and cigarettes. and that just annoys me. A friend just took the time to talk to a beggar. and the beggar felt nice about it. I know it can scare people, beggars can sometimes be aggressive and rude. But just saying hello when they say hello is always a nicer thing to do than being snobby and pretend they don't exist. donate some of your blood ? said someone you care about/your friends/relatives that you like them ? texted someone you havent seen in a long time just to check if they're okay ? ok you got me there, I think it's cheesy to say very often someone that you love him/her. And about charity, I never give money to young adults or adolescent, whoever wants to go ahead and be succesful is going to get it if he truly tries those were examples I just thought of. You can be kind in billion other ways. :P I donated blood last week. and God knows how I hate needles... plus, the nurse hurt me :bigcry: but i felt great afterwards. I did it before and i'll do it again !

HorrificAttack
great because you're not being nice and waiting for something in return ! Yeah I don't expect anything in return, just a smile and a "thank you" is enough :)
johnnycp17
Yeah I don't expect anything in return, just a smile and a "thank you" is enough :) That's good, too many people are only nice just to get something in return or just to be recognized as a nice person. The Escapist
I help people all the time with numerous things. Its just part of my nature or my religion or something.... like today, I gave up my time to help my classmates study and I also brang in some can of food for a charity organisation for christmas. It just seems like the right thing to do.
